English translation of the story:
Be gone the farmer told his horse, you are too old to work and I have no use for you, now shoo.
The old horse didn’t move.
Frustrated the farmer said look you’ve been with me for many years and you served me, but I can’t afford to feed horses who can’t work anymore
The old horse didn’t move
Okay, I’ll make you a deal, prove your worth to me by bringing me a lion and I will keep you and feed you for the rest of your days.
The old horse moved slowly out of the field, he wandered around until it grew dark looking for a place to rest for the night. The next morning he stood by a huge tree crying.
A fox passed by hey there he said why so glum? Are you lost? Have you lost your friend?
I did said the horse i was too old to be of worth, so I no longer have a home.
That’s terrible, said the fox, is there anything you can do?
The horse said the farmer said I could come back to stay if I brought a lion.
A lion? He said that? Well I can arrange that .Said the fox.
You can? Said the horse, how is that possible?
The fox told the horse his plan and ran off to find a lion.
When he saw one he said, hey there I just saw a dead horse do you want me to take you there?
The lion roared and said yes. And he followed the fox until the stopped by the still body of the horse that was pretending to be dead.
I’ll tell you what said the fox, it would be much better if you could drag this meal into your place where you can enjoy it in peace, ok? The lion agreed.
I’ll tie the horse’s tail to you so you can drag him, the lion stretched out on the ground and waited as the fox secured the horse to him.
Before he knew it, his legs were tied tightly as well. The horse rose to his feet and began to move.
Hey there. What’s going on, he struggled to free himself.
The old horse ran toward home dragging the angry lion behind him.
Well look at that, wonderful, a promise is a promise, let me cut this lion loose, and you will be free to live here where you’ll have plenty to eat for the rest of your days.
The lion disappeared into the forest, and the fox became a hero and a celebrity because everyone who heard the story wanted to know what does the fox say?
