This grape grows almost exclusively on one island. We found it growing in the most unexpected place. Can you guess the wine before the big reveal?
So what wine is it?

Today we’re tasting Chalmers Nero d’Avola from Heathcote, Australia. It’s the first of its kind in this country. The producer imported the grape back in 2009 and started a vineyard full of unique Italian varieties.
We were surprised at the amazing potential of Sicilian varieties like Nero d’Avola outside of Italy. The flavors were so much different and so was the boldness level. If you’re a fan of Pinot Noir or Grenache, you’re not going to want to miss this.
