I don't have a job right now because I'm still in school, but I certainly wouldn't quit my job if I won the lottery. First of all, this money won't last forever and I'll eventually have to look for a job once again. And secondly, I want to be a teacher in the future and I don't want to disapoint the kids by saying "well yeah good luck to y'all, I'm out"

If I won the lottery I would quit the job probably. Although I like my colleagues and atmosphere at the office. But more likely I would quit the job and of course I'd give my boss two weeks notice. One part of money won I would give for charity and another part I'd like to invest somehow. Eventually if I won the lottery I would start to draw more and spend more time for design.

I´m not sure because win the lottery it´s a blowmind situation, but I think it would be a good idea to face my boss and shout him: I quit you $%& !!! but on the other side if a quit my job and just waste my money maybe it wont last too much and I´ll be beggin for my job again so perhaps the most clever to do would be dont quit the job but use the money to make it easier for example to buy a house nearer to the job, buy a new car, to buy a new computer and to hire an assistant to do the job that I dont wanna do and spend the most time possible doing funny things like go to the cinema, playing soccer and stuff instead of being stressful with the job but first of all I should win the lottery, hopefully someday and by the way if I won the lottery I will invite to hit the town to the great Bob the Canadian!!!

Dear Teacher Bob, maybe it's already unnecessary to say, but it's a super useful video again as always, thank you for making it! One small question: if you work as a freelancer, what is the word for having own projects? "Undertake" a job/project? You mentioned this verb here, I know, just I think not exactly in connection with being freelancer. So _undertake_ or _take_ or _take on_ maybe.. (a project or job)? Bunch of thanks to you! Have a wonderful day! 🤠
@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian

As a freelance you would "take on" new projects. You could also say, "I am undertaking some new projects." but it sounds very formal. I think the most common would be: "I'm taking on a new project." "I'm starting on a new project." 👷💻🔨

Hi everyone, it is about the Bob question - If you won a lottery, would you quit your job? It depends on what kind of job you do - wash bottles, or work as a manager in an office with clean air. If it is the second variant and I won a lottery, I would invest this money into a business, and when this business will cover all my needs I'll leave my job, for work more around my business. I may not quit my job, if the job is building the career I planned. Contrarily, I'll invest the money to that career. I think money is just a tool to help achieve goals I want in my life. It might short the period but can't buy them. Another thing is that, while having a lot of money is fantastic, the more important thing is knowing how to spend the money. But if someone have unlimited money that might be different.

I would have won the lottery. I would keep working to learn how to the business I am in so I can open my own place hire my own employees and start running the same business I am doing currently in another place. eventually, after running the job good enough for a certain amount of time, hiring a manager so I can do extra work or opening another place. eventually growing older and giving the steering wheel to someone else and live the rest of my days in Hawaii with sea turtles, sharks and flower necklaces.

Sure, I still go to work as routine. I will put half money in the bank account and half money into stock market. I'd keep this secrect from my family, but I tell them I got promoted, my salary raised.

I will be happy to win the lottery, but I will not quite my job, at least not right now.... I think I will still need somewhere to go every day, but I would reduce, like 20 %.

If I win the lottery I will invest money in some business which will be my job. Yes, the position would not be the same :) But it is so sad not to work. Working makes you feel useful and keeps the self-esteem on an appropriate level, in my opinion. And that is not all because of money.

Hi Teacher Bob, thank you very much for this video. I think you forgot a reason why we don't have a job: when we are retired! But I understand why you didn't mention it, probably because your topic was about employment and looking for or applying for a job. If I had won the lottery while I worked, I certainly wouldn't have quit my job immediately. First of all because I loved teaching and out of respect for my students, their parents, the teaching team and the institution in general. And then this kind of economic change in a life requires reflection. I believe that in the first place I would have donated a portion to my children and to research organizations, mutual aid etc.

Well, I would think it's a good fortune to win the lottery and became wealthy, but for me working is a part of my life. Instead of enjoying the money from that fortune, I would work on my own to build up myself as well as support other people by the money I've got.
