Hi teacher Gid, oh it’s really a fantastic story. It reflects those mixed feelings of being in a foreign land, and of course, the language and traditions that express a person’s identity can’t be ignored or forgotten. You can’t imagine dissolving into a language and beliefs different from yours that easily, even if you have all the necessary tools. In reality, you are erasing your own personal record or formatting it to receive a new language, a new life. And of course, not to mention the yearning for what you grew up with in the past. It's basically about shedding your skin to become someone else. It’s true that you feel like you have different personalities and faces that fit the country you live in. But what’s important in this beautiful story is the determination to achieve the goal and persevere in achieving the dream. If I were Maya, I would first master the colloquial language and banter, so I wouldn't think every sentence is an insult to me. 😅Thank you, Teacher Gid, I always love listening to your episodes and writing down every new word and expression. This story in particular is like a small dictionary full of benefits and new things. My utmost appreciation for your efforts. ...sorry for making it long ...have a nice day. 🌻

Hi Gideon, your channel is very professional and entertaining. I live in the north of England. As a Pakistani I emigrated to England nearly two decades ago and I can relate to the protagonist of your story. To add salt to the injury, I had to put up with northern accent 😂. I could have done way better with a southern accent. Some native speakers are very co-operative, however some think if you can’t speak English in a certain way, you are illiterate. You sound very polite and well exposed to different cultures. Thank you very much!
