Really complete course, sometimes I wonder if is necessary learn some complicated tools when you made good pieces with easiest ways before. I think that some tool are for engineers because the need calculate absolutely all parts but designer need more visual ways.

Hello. Is here any way to control the continuity of the created loft in 'along' direction (meaning across the ridges) ? Do we know - as it is - what continuity is there right now? (this is strictly rhetorical curiosity question - but the practical application should be obvious)
@MangoJellySolutions

Unfortunately no, the lofting algorithm approximates between profiles, the more profiles you have the more control over the curvature of the loft. There is combs in the curves workbench you can add but they don't control the continuity but just display a bspline comb as a visual did the surface.

Hi, I want to create a blend between 2 curves. Then I want to join the 2 curves+the blend curve and use that joincurve for as the base for a Path Array in the curved shapes WB. But when I try to join curve the 2 curves and the blend curve, the operation fails. please help!

If you create 2 separate sketches it works ok but if you offset one of the edges, (say 10mm in the Z direction), the curve does not attach to the edge.

The Curves Workbench seems incredibly powerful but compared to the Part Design, Part, and Surface benches it's significantly more complicated. These videos are helping me tremendously.

Love how you make very interesting models from things I hardly use. Genius!

is it possible to make 3d offset from Blend Curve ?
@MangoJellySolutions
Жыл бұрын
Part 3D offset won't work on a single curve but you can do a part 2D offset on one and tick the fill option which will create a planar face which can be used, say to extrude, loft or sweep through. Or you can create a number of blend curves, loft through those and then do a 3D offset

If I have two lines on different planes (XY and ZY for example) The curve does not meet one or even both ends. Moreover, trying it with two different parts the same happens and the curve does not connect

It seems to work a lot better if the lines come from an extrusion. If not the curves are really weird...or it seems so to me

16:34 When I click "Join Curves" is throws an error in the Report View that reads " type must be 'Shape', not list" and doesn't create the curve. Am I the only one having this issue?

You need to upgrade your curves workbench as there is a new version. I contacted the programmer about this issue and they fixed it petty quickly

Great, like always. Just one thing. You can increase or decrease de values in the boxes rolling the wheel mouse, not only with the arrow keys. Thanks.

Thanks for the comments glad you like the video, you have made me think I should really move to a mouse rather than use my touch pad on my laptop as the majority of viewers are probably using a mouse. I just realised I have never said anything about the mouse wheel. It's something that I never thought about mentioning, thank you.

@@MangoJellySolutions I have just supported you in Kofi, is not too much but for my country's currency it is 😅. I Just want to tell you that you have the best surfacing videos in KZitem, I am currently doing a CFD analysis over a Formula type car and I struggled a lot using extrude, for my second iteration I will use surfacing instead. Best FreeCAD Surface KZitemr Thanks a lot!
