Question: it is good to see The Price is Right with the Bob Barker episodes on Pluto TV. Are they only going as far as the 1985 episodes with Johnny Olson? I would like to see the Rod Roddy episodes, too.

1:47 Seriously, I used to catch colds, many times *ahem* and being sick away from Elementary School. a lot during this time. I loved watching TPIS. I honestly missed this episode. Now looking at it. reel-to-reel tape players/recorders were still around in 1985? That is seriously, news to me. And LOL, actually, LOL! The Whole family cannot travel in an oil burner1985 Mazda RX-7 When sailor boy bid that amount, I immediately thought she would bid $1

I think that was the "Bob factor" in effect. The show as tailored towards stay at home wives and Bob was the handsome hunk. As he got older and the show began trying to get a younger audience, you then got more college students and more diversity. Time has changed. People are more obese now. They think piercings, colored hair and tattoos are attractive (they aren't.) They don't dress as nice these days. Too many men with unkept unattractive beards and beer guts. Too many women with enhancements that make them look 20 years older than they are (not in a good way). Social media and pop culture are making people more rude, more narcissistic and less kind. I saw an interview where Drew Carey said almost all the contestants now are either "high or drunk." I mean, how sad is that?

Back when TPIR models had personality. It's so sad to me how little they do anymore. Rachel Reynolds as been with the show almost as long as Janice Pennington was with the show, and she does so little besides saying hi. No more showcase skits. No model chats. Most episodes only 2 of the models are even used for the episode. It's just pathetic how little they are utilized these days.

@@jamesmcclelland1414 But wasn't the # 1 single then. That honor goes to "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack who at 87 is still with us at the time of this posting. And speaking of Roberta Flack, she also had the # 1 album as well called "First Take". Ironic enough, both the single and album weren't released in 1972 at all. They were in 1969 instead but thanks to one music playing her single, they were both belatedly charted. On the other hand, "Fog On The Tyme" by Lindisfame was the #1 album released in the U.K. And CBS had NO DAYTIME GAME SHOWS AT ALL! Just ABC and NBC did and the eye network would have to wait an additional 3 1/2 months, the same amount of time Bob Barker had before he turned 100 until his own untimely death, for that to happen.
