how to manage multiple fountain simulations in one scene? I mean when you are done with one, how to lock that and switch to another? So that we do not re calculate previous ones again and again. Regards

Great timing - I'm doing a waterfall like this into a water tub :) I have some questions; 1) The water of the pool - is that just a displacement map ? If not, how do you combine the water simulation of a swimming pool with a water simulation of a cascading fountain ? (is it being affected by the waterfall ? or is the pool water an animated displacement map or wave modifier). 2) That 'broken' brick feature from which the water came out of - how did you create that ? I need to create the same :) 3) What is the spec of your machine ? I have a 7980xe processor but I find that my simulations are slower than yours. Thank :)

Hi Jez, 1 - In this scene the pool water is indeed just a plane with an animated texture and noise modifier, since simulating the pool water in this case wasn't necessary. If you do need to simulate the collected water, such as in a bowl or a tub, you can indeed do that. Check out the "Using Initial Liquid Fill with Containers" tutorial from Chaos Group. It might help 2 - The bricks are a mixture of geometry/displacement. I believe i picked the pattern up from 3dsky 3- I have a Ryzen 3950x, 16 core. Try playing with the resolution within Phoenix, perhaps you can gain some speed without sacrificing too much quality.

@@archvizninja5823 Thanks Jonathan - I really appreciate it - I've found the Stone Wall and I've also figured out how to do the swimming pool scenario as well. Many thanks :)

Thank you for sharing. I was wanting to get your opinion on whether or not this is possible using Phoenix FD. I want to create fountains shooting into a pool of water , and interacting with the water. Thanks for your time.

@@archvizninja5823 No worries ! Thank you for your reply. I am perfecting it. I created a pool with a Phoenix liquid sim, fills up on start , like 10%. Inside that same liq sim I have cylinders angled towards the pool. I set the top of the cylinders polygon id to that if a second liquid that supplies the fountains. I’m very new to this so I hope it makes sense.,I’d be glad to share files with you for your input. I’m trying to make it as realistic as possible. I’m thinking I’ll have to import it into unreal engine , and use v ray to make it look its best. I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks again !

Hey Jonathan I am having an issue regarding the speed ...when I start phoenix stimulation it takes hell lot of time to create the motion .....in perfomance my vox/s is 0.12 mb while your's it's showing 20+mb so can you please help me with this, like is there any problem with my laptop speed(128gb SSD +4gb Graphic + 8gb ram +1tb HDD) or something with 3ds max.

Hi Ritik. It could be any number of things, but I'd suspect the main culprit probably being your CPU as a bottleneck. To be sure, I'd try running the simulation within a new, clean scene at minimal resolution and see if it still takes just as long.
