Oh sooo good! Brings back childhood memories! The flavours in this dish are subtle .. but you can add some "spice" if you like. You can substitute the chicken with beef / fish or other protein of your choice. Enjoy!

Recipe:
CREAMY CHICKEN BAKE
Ingredients:
1 package of pastry shell (bake per package directions)
Need: an ovenproof pie plate/casserole dish
In a frying pan combine & cook and set aside;
1 large chicken breast cut into small bite size
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon garam masala
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
1 teaspoon onion powder
salt & pepper to taste
In saucepan combine and cook medium flame;
1/2 cube of chicken bouillon to 1 cup of water bring to boil
1/2 cup of frozen peas
1 cup frozen leeks
4 small carrots (or 2 large) peel and chopped finely
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
In separate saucepan cook onions in butter for a few minutes;
1/3 cup of butter
1/3 cup of chopped onions until lightly brown
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Add:
1/3 cup of flour (cook flour in the onion & butter mix) add;
1/3 cup milk at first then add
1 cup of heavy cream stir and add another
1/3 cup of milk
3 cloves of garlic pressed
1/2 tablespoon dry chives
Combine the vegetables and cooked chicken into cream sauce and stir
Taste for seasoning (adjust salt / pepper)
Pour the filling mix into the pie crust and top off with the remaining strips of pastry and egg wash top - cover with tinfoil and Bake at 375F for 40 minutes (Remove the tinfoil last 5 minutes to brown the crust).
I served this with a side of broccoli topped with butter and shredded parmesan
