Started skating at around 7, got my first local shop sponsor at 15. For some reason, I could never get this stupid basic trick down. I would always get in it crooked so the wheels hit the ledge and stick, or land wheels on top and shoot out. I could nollie front nose and switch front tail no problem, but for whatever reason this one always gave me problems

Just watching this at home right now getting the mental feel for the nose slide so when I go to the park I know where to start, I've done like 1 lil nose slide before and heaps of attempts where I pop onto the ledge into nose slide position then pivot off into fakie roll out and mastered them almost aha they look pretty cool but can't wait to try a proper nose slide using this video as a guide:) will update you guys on how it goes!! Cheers for the vid tutorial Paul!

I've always had trouble with this trick primarily because my left foot(regular stance) is not my dominant so it doesn't feel as comfortable putting all my weight on it. Idk if that's been a problem for anybody else. But hopefully attempting these more often might change that, TY Paul 🙌

An important part that he didn’t mention is to position your front foot almost like a heel flip before you pop. So when you get on you’re standing comfortably instead of on your toes or somewhere unstable. I do the same technique with back crooks as well

I was hoping for a bit more detail on things like the angle to approach the ledge, how far away from the ledge to be when you pop, how to properly pop out of the trick, if we should aim to Ollie higher than the ledge and drop onto it or just kinda jam the nose in there by popping the same height as the ledge, how much to lean back vs keep your weight centered etc. like I get what you said about no tip just unlocking it instantly but the more info you have the better and this was a bit too surface level for me. Basically just “pop like a 180 and then put your weight on the ledge and keep your shoulders open”. I am genuinely enjoying the content from you though and look forward to more. Just a bit of constructive criticism!

Learnt this trick in one day like 13 years ago from a guy at the park. For me imo a tip someone gives you can unlock the trick instantly for some (like myself) and some might take more time. Feel it’s very subjective on that matter and your tip will unlock it instantly for others as well like it did with me.

Popping the nollie out is the best part imo. Exactly program muscle memory. I’d learn it slappy style 1st to get good at sliding then learn Ollie in. You really gotta learn ollle to nose stall 1st. That’s how I’d teach it. Then gradually go at more of an angle to start sliding it. Good vid I studied your tricks early on to learn.
