I'm amazed at how often we use words without thinking them through. I always see barber describe their fade guide as 1 inch when in reality it's about 1 1/2 - 2 inches that they are cutting. An in is smaller than two-finger widths.

When you were saying 90 degrees that razor was not 90 degrees to the balloon it was pretty much 90° to the floor correct it was actually more of a 45 degree angle against the balloon that confused me a little bit because when you said not to hold the razor this way that was 90 degrees to the surface of the balloon?

Words matter. This isn’t a straight razor, it’s a shavette, and it isn’t a “right angle,” you’re looking for, which is 90 degrees, it’s the “correct angle” and that’s a single edge razor, not a double edge. Teach people, or confuse them, your choice.

thats why you dont have to practice on a balloon... im on barber school and at the beginning i thought this was a good idea but actually is the worst... you need to feel how the blade works on the skin, thats the only way to learn properly.. good luck!! also i practice shaving my beard
