Respected sir, I have one doubt to be asked, in the equation what does 'D' define? is it only 'resolution' or 'the limit of resolution'. I always get confused between these two terms, so please help me to clarify it.

Resolution is the ability to identify two objects as different. There should be some distance at which the two objects appear distinct. Below this distance, the resolution is lost. So this distance D is referred as limit of resolution. If a microscope which is able to resolve two objects at distance 2 um and other microscope is able to resolve 2 objects at distance 1 um. So the one with lower D value (1 um) have greater resolution. Therefore both are inversely related. Same thing is explained in video from time stamp 9:00 .
