North-American jazz players playing Latin standards, and Latin music in general, usually sounds awful. But Stan Getz, Paul Desmond, also Bud Shank, had a knack for doing it really well.

Great piece of saxophone but I cannot find 'Besame Mucho' in this music no matter how many times I listen to it.

This is a transcription of Paul Desmond’s solo over the Bésame Mucho chord progression.

If you listen to the entire song, you will hear David Brubeck playing the main theme of the song on the piano. He is following the theme while embellishing. When Paul Desmond comes to play his solo part, he is playing this showed in the video. It is not the main theme of the song, which would sound repetitive after Dave's playing, but Paul Desmond composes the "next phase of the song", an imaginary second part to call it, showing us how he would extend the song if given a chance. That, is very, very difficult to do, but Paul Desmond did it, even creating a secondary "sub-melody', which is elegant and memorable.
