Thanks for the vid. Are you able to import shape files of valves and other equipment into a model like this so you don't have manually draw everything like shown here?

Awesome! Even if you don't model piping much, the fundamentals apply to a lot of other shapes as well! :)

I must be missing the part where you explained how you do the offset at 2:58 - any info?

The videos are great. Just FYI when dabbing pipe the bolts are aligned in what’s called a “2 bolt” pattern. This is to insure flanges align correctly in the field. The pipe fitter set the flanges up where 2 of the top bolt holes are aligned equally distance away from the 12 o’clock position. In a 4 bolt flange the bolts would be at 45 degrees on either side of top center.

Try making the radius/size of your objects bigger - small objects can often have geometry creation issues

I notice you use * for multiply copies which for me is shift 8, a 2 key combo. Why don't you use the x key, a single key press which is the inbuilt shortcut, either before or after the number of copies you want so to get 10 copies it''s x10 or 10x?
@Thesketchupessentials

It's not a 2 key combo if you use a numpad, which I use a lot

@@Thesketchupessentials Ok - No numberpad on my keyboard and I'm sure a lot of your viewers are in the same boat as me; perhaps you could mention this, as in all of your demos in this series you have used * and this could be seen as THE WAY to do it.

@ 1:08 the fillet action to have a smooth elbow. Can this be used? kzitem.info/news/bejne/o55ruo6igqSmnm0 see tip 32. appears to be useful. the radius value key board entry has to be entered without moving away from the curve. wish this inferencing can be extended for drawing elbows too.
