I feel you. My teacher does 1 example, then makes us do a bunch of problems with a specific formula and expects us to remember exactly how to do it. Then goes on and shows us something completely different.

I'm taking a college math course and haven't touched this topic since jr high. My professor goes too fast and fails to explain the whole picture, which is what I need for it to make sense. This was a life saver! You are a wonderful teacher! To the students who are talking right through class, you are being rude and you will regret it someday. I don't think they realize how great of a math teacher this guy is ❤️

I go to such a good high school I forgot about kids like this class. Honestly, we are so quiet and attentive at my school, you could hear a pin drop in class. I really appreciate this learning environment and feel bad for people that had to spend their entire school time in environments like this and ones worse than this.

This is certainly different from where I’m from. Where I’m from, we learn how to factor “ax^2 + bx + x, where a = 1”, then “ax^2 + bx + c”, followed by learning how to complete the square, thus forming the vertex form of the quadratic, then learning how to derive and use the quadratic formula. Then and only then do we learn to graph, which makes it easier, since we know how to factor (finding x-intercepts), we know how to complete the square (finding the vertex), and all we need to learn is that the “c” constant is the y-intercept.

the graph he drew is not correct. his graph passes through origin but when x=0, y is not equal to zero that means that the graph can not pass through the origin.

Geometry was the bane of my existence when going to school. (And calculus 😢) I would have used the table. This is a great video, and explains well. But I have never been able to see things graphically as well as I can algebraically.

What happens when the b is an odd number? so then it would become 3.5 for the value. And plugged in squared would be 12.25 surely that can’t be easy to graph at that point

Sir i find it diificult when the vertex is in fraction Like eg:- y=x*2-7×x+12 So vertex = 7/2 And roots = 4,3 But according to method after substitute different values of x for y Values obtained for y are in fraction as well which makes it difficult for me to plot them Please help...... ( sorry for any grammatical mistakes or if my question is wrong ) Thank you

This reminds me of why I didn't enjoy math until I learned calculus. Instead of memorizing formulas, you can then derive them almost instantly.
