Nice instruction video. Here's a tip for newbies trying this on simulator. A funnel whether tail down or nose down is simply just sideways flying and "turning". So practice flying sideways. Another tip "notice stick pattern". Either, they pinch(come together) or spread. So, if you know what your rudder stick is going, just remember if you need to pinch/spread.

Hey Tom great video. You make it look so easy! I totally agree spending some quality time with the Sim is a must do when practicing tricks like these. Wonderful job friend. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day and as always, happy flying friend.

So I play DCS Black Shark and Huey. My god if I had even 1% of this ability I'd be happy. I struggle flying in a straight line without looking drunk and landing without ending in a ditch or bumping into another helicopter and you go and fly upside down and backwards as though it were nothing. I am absolutely stunned.

Thanks for the idea, but if the heli is setup properly, it won't kick out. I have only had the tail kick out on my 250 and mcpx. but the 450 should be fine if the gain is set right. I think the most likely tricks are probably tail slides or anything that requires a lot of pitch quickly. so a full pitch flip might blow out the tail. thanks

Are you planning on doing a tutorial on quads? Very few out there and none that explain things aswell as you do with your heli ones. Would be much appreciated if you did especially showing how to flip etc. food for thought tom.

I'm not planning on doing a tutorial for quads just yet as my current quad is set up for aerial photography and isn't capable of doing aerobatics. I have the parts to build a quad for aerobatics, just haven't got around to building it yet. Thanks

Hey Tom, I just got an idea for a vid- more of a question really if it's not a great idea to show it in flight- What manouvers are you most likely to get a tail kick from!?!? I'm worried about this a bit in real life because in phoenix sim when I fly my 450 pro in say a fast funnel, the tail kicks out. What other moves are most dangerous for possible tail blow outs?

Nice try, but I think it was a bit confusing tutorial for a newbie like me. I think collective management is just a part of the overall control, but the more important aspect of funnels/hurricane is bank angle corrections. The important part to notice is that in funnels, your elevator controls the bank corrections while in hurricanes, your ailerons do that job. Once you get that straighten in your head, it's just muscle memory. I'm sure you don't even think about what corrects what, it's just natural muscle memory by now.

Hmmm, cool video but not too much info, nothing anyone can learn from. The stick moments don't help too much. I'll keep looking for someone to break down each movement of the stick like you said in rate mode nice and slow for us newbies.
