I like the city tracks in this wave! They have a lot of different routes and change every lap so you feel like you're driving through an entire city.

Bayesic thank you so much for this video it helped me out a lot first I had a 2:13.7 not doing the shroom cut on section 1 but then I started doing the shroom cut on section 1 and got another .7 but I improved then I got a 2:13.6 then 2:13.3 then 2:13.012 which I was so frustrated with but now I’ve got 2:12.917 which I’m so happy with !

City tracks are interesting, but the more paths they have, it's harder to know where you should be going, and the arrows don’t help. Maybe if the minimap grays out the paths we don’t take every lap
@Bayesic
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve got a whole rant about this prepared for my Berlin Byways video, but it’s like if they can add a literal gigantic fucking ramp on lap 2 of Kalamari, surely they can add some less inconspicuous walls to tell you where to go instead of these nondescript arrows

Trying to just beat the course ghost on this one, and I'm always about 2 seconds off. I think the first lap might be where the problem is... Maybe I'll try to boost off that planter.

Best series! Thanks as always. Totally agreed that the city courses are just a tad too confusing to navigate for both new and experienced players. I played some some fun team races with family over the holidays (shout out item toggle, huge for split screen fun) and we stopped playing the city courses. The novelty of a city was not worth the frustration of making a wrong turn.

Idk why but the stair physics in MK8 deluxe are so annoying, I have so much difficulty to consistently trick of stairs when climbing them (for instance, the 2 stairs at the beginning of the sydney track). 99% of the times I mess up the time trials due to the stairs... it is not really difficult but it is just so inconsistent whether you manage to get the trick or not.

9:26 While I agree that the city course’s routes aren’t the most intuitive, I will say that prior knowledge of the course’s routes in Tour can help give you an idea of where to go. For example, I knew beforehand that London Loop 3 has you drive alongside the River Thames both ways, so once I drove alongside it before the drawbridge in lap 3, I knew I would do so after the drawbridge as well. It’s not foolproof, but it can at least help somewhat. There are KZitem videos for every single city course as well, so you don’t have to worry about waiting for them to appear in Tour, either.

Thanks for this! I found this ghost the hardest of the wave 3 to beat and in my repeated attempts to do so, noticed they use an inward drifting bike build. Do you think London loop is well built for an inward drifting build compared to the usual try hard?

Sorta not relevant to the video, but here’s my thoughts on the arrows. I have NO clue on why people keep saying it’s hard to see where to go when playing blind. I’ve played all these city tracks blind and I’m always able to figure out where to go.
