Sending you all of the love. My father passed away in 2020 of cancer and in some of the last conversations I had with him, he told me that he really wanted me to go out and live a life that would make me happy. About that time I also found your videos and have always wanted to learn at least one other language, but had never tried beyond two required years of Spanish in high school. I have been studying Thai now for about a year and have made slow progress (my schedule is so full with 6 day work weeks and full time online college) but I am at what I'd say is a "shy elementary conversation level" (I get nervous and can't remember words often and my italki teacher is trying to help as much as they can). I'd like to thank you for all of your content, because it really keeps me motivated to continue even when I'm frustrated and it helped me get through a really rough moment in my life.

I love the real talk and to the point updates! Congrats on powering through some of your goals despite your situation. I laughed out loud in an ironic/sad way when you said “my mom is busy dying.” It’s so hard when you’re so sad and stressed in a drawn out situation like that. The emotional stamina it takes is a lot. Stay strong, but we already know you are. I hope your family is getting to spend time with your mom. I pray for you guys often! Praying that lots of little things and blessings are making your time together memorable and loving each day.

Thank you very much for your updates i'm genuinely interested in your achievements because just watching your videos makes me motivated to keep going in my personal language learning journey. My first language was English because, despite the fact that most of our educational system in Ukraine connected with language teaching in schools/colleges isn't so great, I fell in real love with this language and I'm speechlessly thankful to it for tons of new opportunities that it has opened for me. And also, I'm honored and grateful to you for your undescribable help. As I remember, even in my childhood I've always been interested in asian culture and asian languages, but I was afraid to start learning even one of them because of the fear of uncertainty and probability of me failing. But now, after several years of collecting such an amazing experience in the language learning community and by watching your videos about asian languages, I finally decided to start learning Korean. It's been several months from the start now and I'm thrilled to say that my efforts weren't worthless, I really enjoy this language and its culture, with every day I become more and more determined to go on my way of achieving my goals. Thank you for everything. Wish you all the best 😎

Glad to see another update. I hope you're doing okay. I just picked Thai back up for September, so I'm taking 1-2 lessons a week with a tutor, doing a couple apps, and trying to listen/watch as much content as I can. And I really need to take a page from your book and start reading more in German! I have some books already, I'm just lacking the discipline to sit down and read them, haha. Lastly, I'm still studying Polish as well, and have started lessons back up, but I'm not studying it as regularly as I ought to...just haven't been feeling it lately. I still try to do something with Polish every other day or so, so I don't lose too much in the meantime.

Having lost my mother last year (not to cancer), and being about to lose my aunt to cancer these days, I can understand you well. Even you keep your head high and get by in your daily tasks, it takes toll on you. Even having a motivation to study is a tough task in itself, so don't worry about your study...it'll be better. I wish you patience. Speaking of the Bible, actually it's a good book (no pun intended) for language study too, because it's probably the most translated book by far and can be good for a comparative study.

Hello, Lindie, I am sorry to hear about your mom! I had to go through the same with my mother and my grandfather not long ago. I wanted to finish up my social media courses for the certificate. Or take more environmental courses but that’s on hold until next summer. I am mostly taking health and bereavement courses to try and get back to normal. Also, I developed‘Cave Syndrome’ from being isolated for so long. It’s a minor form of agoraphobia where the person has an irrational fear of getting sick after loosening restrictions. It’s going away slowly but I need another semester before I can take a course on campus.

As for your mom, I can't say I know how you feel. But my heart is breaking and I can't think of what to say is except that I pray for peace and that you and your family come out of this stronger. Honestly... it feels unfair, but I truly hope beautiful things will bloom after this storm passes in your life. Like they have to, you know? Love you, remember that it's okay to take time to yourself, and praying for you. ❤🙏🏾

Nice to see you again, Lindie! I'm really sorry for your Mom's situation, been there in the past. Gonna pray for her. It's nice to see that you use the Bible to learn French, it's great because it's basically the most accessible parallel text you can get! I use the Psalms a lot and I first learn a particular Psalm in it's original Hebrew form and then I go forward and learn the same one in Arabic and so on. Also the narrative books of the Bible have a relatively simple structure and grammar, which is great for the learner. Once again, best wishes to your Mother and all your family.

That "line a day" is too cool. I attempt to do a journal entry for writing/vocabulary practice...but the line a day style, just hits the neat freak/OCD structure catches my eye. Thank you for showing that. And I love that you are kicking ass with keeping motivated with studying Hungarian. That is just too cool. hi! i feel like it would help any hungarian learner a lot if they could visit the country for a while (the countryside too) to immerse themselves in the language and culture, though the "atmosphere" here is not very great right now because of the political situation and the energy crisis. also, of course hungarian has a very complex grammar, so much so that even hungarians themselves make mistakes sometimes and as a native speaker the way i deal with this is that i "build up" the sentences in my head before saying them out loud. maybe this can help you too.
