I am presently in the Evolve program, Block 1. I'm American and live in the US, but I moved to France when I was 18 to go to seminary, I had to learn a new alphabet, new language and the "song" of that language, how is sounds, how it communicates with in their culture and gives flavor to their everyday life. I can totally agree with how Kevin is explaining learning a new language. It is so exact to the actual experience. I did finally write some poetry in French which is a whole lot easier to do, since a lot of verbs rhyme. lol. This is a great explanation of language and how this applies to Art. I really appreciate Kevin's approach and I am really enjoying the program.

Thank you, mentor and teacher. God bless and keep you; make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. I am child prodigy awardee. I was a confident artist, even though my work was not so greatly successful or utter failures. I came across the one painting of Daniel on KZitem and a painter in Saatchi painting hyper-realistic hands with realistic water ; and I asked one thing: I want to paint better than these two artists. Thank you. Disney never went to school, and today's schools are not worth it. Thanks Kevin and team.

People saying that technical mastery means no or less artistic expression is dumb. It's like saying if you master English grammar, you can't write great plays or write novels like Ernest Hemingway. It's complete hogwash. Quite the opposite is true.

I know, right? Of course, people can sell absolutely rubbish art and then claim you don't need training as all they do is throw paint around. That's fun of course, but hardly fulfilling or rewarding.

@@Isaac_k7 wow that's so awesome to hear that! This is the kind of thing that motivates me and our team to get up and make Evolve as best as it can possibly be, to help artists break free into a realm of expression and creativity and ultimately to fulfill or reignite the dreams of artists. It gets me all fired up! 🔥🔥 Thank you for sharing 😁~ Daniel

Thanks again Kevin and Daniel I always have to go back and find the fundamental language of everything I do as with out it you are fumbling in the dark. You can't pass of the skill of talk to like minded people in any depth of meaningful productive way. With out Knowing the how and why you can't explain. Some of the spinners(wool from sheep in to yarn) just to clarify, they just say pull some out , hold it and feed it in. ( like you say it's theatre watching with out the knowledge). There is a lot more than that to it , I won't get in to that here I like to explain the why you do a thing and what will happen and how to solve the problem so then they know how to deal with some things that happen. The alphabet of the thing applies to everything in life. Hope this helps you gorilla fantasy. Thanks again guys Sheila

I also have to go back to the fundamentals! They aren't just "the basics" that you have to get through before going to the advanced stuff. Thank you Sheila! ~ Daniel

OMG, I used to watch my Mum spin, then got my own spinning wheel, but never managed to do it myself. This was before KZitem of course. Regarding the art alphabet, as an art teacher I know I have forgotten so much over the years, having to teach everything but a minimum of art some years and such a breadth of skills. I'm loving going back to the basics with evolve, dumping out all former knowledge and starting from scratch, it's really freeing and fun.

Awesome! It’s so much easier to handle a painting when you can think about it in those terms. The technical terminology we use is “values, colors, and edges.” All three of those things create form 👍 here’s a playlist on that if you haven’t seen it already: Fundamentals of Art kzitem.info/door/PLlBZ6D4J51BMfilYd3PhLTsjmt9pabRu8 ~ 🙂 Daniel
