Hello, my name is Mia. I live in Zurich.
I live in a shared apartment.
You also say "WG" for short.
Do you know what that is?
In a WG you live together with friends or acquaintances in an apartment.
This is practical, because you can live cheaply.
Everybody has his own room.
You share the living room, the kitchen and the bathroom.
My roommate's name is Klaus.
He comes from Germany and studies geomatics at the ETH.
He is very nice and living with him is very pleasant.
In a shared apartment, the chores are divided fairly among each other.
These are my chores for this month:
I have to go shopping once a week.
There is a shopping list on the refrigerator.
There we write down what food and drinks we need.
I always go to the supermarket nearby to shop.
I have to clean the bathroom twice a week.
For that I need a cleaning agent for the bathroom, a cleaning sponge, a brush and a cleaning cloth.
I don't like this work at all. But it is part of the household.
I have to water the plants regularly.
Sometimes I also talk to them and sing to them.
Twice a week I have to vacuum the whole apartment, because the apartment gets dirty quickly and there is a lot of dust.
I need a vacuum cleaner for that.
Our vacuum cleaner is old and doesn't work well, but Klaus doesn't want to buy a new vacuum cleaner.
