Best advice I got coming into this business, and it’s related to saying ‘no’, but pertains to people coming into the industry is… Don’t chase it. You over work for a lead and they know they own you and you’ll be subject to whatever the couple wants. Once you get past that. This video comes into play because this level of ‘no’ is the next level and the longer climb. I’ve been in business for 11 year and now am coming into conversation of saying no… or as trying to multi-op giving some of these opportunities to my guys but only if they’re in a position to succeed and not get discouraged. Thanks for the insight Jason , keep up the content!

I Concur. Fits my mantra, developed after a limited 35+ years, "Not every client is My client."

Great vid J. Can you do a video sometime on the reverse of this- clients who say "no" to you and being able to overcome objections?

Easy if they say no, then I dont want to work with them bc they done understand, appreciate or value the services I bring to the table, so they arent my ideal couple. Hope that makes sense.

having this situation especially when I get requests for locations from blacklist. I always acted like you suggest - saying no without pointing to the real reasons - e.g. strict volume restrictions, not being able to bring my own lights - always mentioned that I'm not the right choice for them

Great video Jason. And awesome advice for sure! I think something I originally struggled with was HOW to say No. Might be a good idea for a future video brother 👀

I believe I included it. Simply not available if it is a location or you are made aware of the reason before you meet. If it happens after the case, you have some options and that could be a great video.

Hello Jason , I am a few days late to this video. I am trying to get my foot in the door at clubs/bars/restaurants. Now I've been to this restaurant before and inwas asked back. I have to plug into their sound, and it's not good. I asked if I could bring my own speakers, and they told me no. Do I continue performing at this establishment, being that I am trying to get my foot in the door ? Note , I am an event Dj.

It all depends, maybe you can supplement their sound with yours.
