for real, this is my favorite podcast of all time and i havent painted a mini in two decades. the relevance of the content applies to so many art forms. thank you👍 feedback: 1 put a limiter on the audio to cut out amplitude spikes for the listeners. compression can have a similar effect to make the volume homogenized to a smooth, steady paste for the ears. 2 use pop filters and/or filter out the super sub low end air puffs in the audio. on nice speakers, the dialog can occasionally sound like somebody shuffling around in a closet. them nice mics you're using pick up a lot of lows that don't come through on a phone speaker. stay crispy, goodie peepee

What an awesome episode. Not only is it cool to hear somebody talk about something they're really passionate and knowledgeable about, but you guys do such a great job integrating your guests into the conversation, asking questions, genuinely sounding enthusiastic about the answers, and not taking up too much space in order to really let them talk and be the center. Super fun listen. Not much re-listenability though... 😂 That part cracked me up.

Speaking of painting eyes, and Heroquest… I’m pretty new to the hobby, and my first project has been painting everything from the new Heroquest. I’m having a blast doing so, especially with my kids… even though it ends up being more work in the end, 😂 But I’m actually really happy with the eyes I put on my abominations! I ended up building up droplets of “Still Water” from Vallejo, overtop of the eyeballs. It made them bug out and pop that almost magnifies the eye from beneath.

Glad to see Vince on the podcast! I really think his videos are responsible for my improvement in painting. As for painting eyes, I'm team skip most of the time. I struggle with getting paint to flow off the tip of the brush without watering down the paint so much that there's just a drop of watery paint sitting on the face.

Also #battletech - couple months ago I asked this kid (22-ish?) if this mech he was painting (lunch at work) was for CBT (I haven't bought a Steel Rhino or a Timber Wolf since the only way to get them was cast in pewter in a blister next to the Ral Partha paints) he says "IDK what that is, this is for an old game called Battletech". Almost crushed his windpipe...

I began writing my own TT Skirmish game a while back. Based in my novel series The Angaran Chronicles which is a Diesel Punk/Fantasy setting. It's based off the rules my friend and I made for a turn based RPG based on Fire Emblem. Although, the TT Skirmish game is a switching system. The game has a huge emphasis on character creation. You can have a side of dozens of weak dudes in hordes or a small group of five highly elite magically enhanced guys and everything in between (which is hard to balance, but I think I managed it through a lot of play testing) The game itself is based on WarCry the gameplay is simple but is based on a 2d10/1d10 system opposed rolls and seems simple. I play tested it with a couple of friends who've never played a TT Skirmish before and by the 2nd game they got it, just like that. Had a ton of fun each time I played it and do did my plasterers even when losing.
