I run my longest training run ever, on the trails, as I prepare for a 50km ultra marathon in May 2024. Having suffered after my last speed session, with knee, ankle, muscle soreness, I took a break and put this long run off as long as possible. Tackling it now, on Easter Monday, I share some insights I have had recently, to help me keep running even when my legs are really sore, tired and heavy during a long run or ultra marathon race.
