nice driving and it's about time people learnt that truck drivers deserve some respect for what we do, long hours, time away from families, sleeping in a cab in the middle of nowhere. Many countries regard us as low education nobodies but without us you have nothing as everything you buy has been on a truck so the next time you see one, give a smile and a thumbs up.

I used to deliver to a place like that. We got sick of constantly struggling. Only needed a few things moving out of the way but they refused to. So us drivers dumped the trailers horizontal across the loading bays one night and fucked off. The following night all the crap had been moved and there was a bit more respect for us.

backing a semitrailer is something you sort of learn by trial and error,a lot of mistakes,and years of practice.20 years trucking experience and 1 backing accident taught me that.you new truckers remember 2 things,1,you don't get good at backing overnight!,and 2,you can get out and look 100 times,pull up 100 times.but forget to pull up or get out once could be that 1 time you should have.it takes about 2 years to really get good at it.

Very nicely done. I had to back a day cab and a 48' trailer into a tighter spot about twenty-five years ago. There was about 6' in front of the trailer to a 10' high retaining wall. It took me about 45 minutes because the company would not load me unless both sides of the trailer were touching the dock. Was close a few times but they were anal about it.

not exactly like this, but yes, you have to dock on a regular basis, some times multiple stops a day. sometimes one load driven a day or 2 to it's destination, if you are lucky you just drop and pick up in a staging yard, but still have to park them in their spots. I drove for a few years, I miss it. don't miss the docking. it gets easier and second nature over time.

My brother is a OTR driver and I think I'd do it in a second if I didn't have to deal with the terminal delivery. He got a gig doing delivery of high end cars (lamborghini, ferrari, etc) in NY city. They gave them an exception to drive the big rigs through the city but he said it was insane. He was constantly knocking down signs, etc because they don't design anything in NY city with the idea of a full size car hauler coming through.

How can you not ride the clutch in a situation like this
@williamdelarge2491
8 жыл бұрын
Trucks that are electronic throttle control like this day can fld 120 are quite easy to take off. If you just smoothly let the clutch out the comp will give the motor a shot of fuel so it won't lag or stall as easily. Now yes you can use the throttle to help get going in situations. But with also having hi/low reverse gears there is no need nor reason to "ride" the clutch . He is just letting the tractor idle if it listen. If you have what is known as mechanical fuel injection engine, well then throttle play is required more. I hope this helps give you a basic idea?
