I am so impressed and it is so neat that you ride such a big horse.I was always nervous till I got on the horse then I was fine. Wish I could have done what you do.😊

I have a horsey channel as well that follows my journey with horses and my journey with my OTTB that was abused- and he’s my first horse, I know what you’re thinking 🫣. It’s incredibly slow progress and I make the DUMBEST mistakes. People are always going to give their two cents- as you well know. It usually comes from a good place. However, it’s also incredibly overwhelming to look at. I’m making videos to record my progress, my horse’s progress, silly mistakes that are a part of progress, etc. I think people forget not everyone is a seasoned professional- and forget that those seasoned professionals are human beings that are far from perfect and make mistakes. Learning from their mistakes and learning to do better is what got them to become those professionals. I hope more equestrians will continue to be honest in their videos and show their mistakes or state that they make mistakes. I want to break this silly idea in the equestrian community that perfection exists and heavy, mean criticism of new riders or not so new riders is okay- it’s not okay. I hope you continue to put out your mistakes and are honest about your progress. This was a cute video 🤍

Well said, everyone has to start from somewhere, and everyone makes mistakes. You're doing an amazing job with your riding. I have only ever rode western, I would be flat on my a$$ riding english. Also, with having a new horse, it can take a while to get in figure each other out. Can I ask how many hands Sontiago is? And if you dont mind me asking how tall you are cause he looks like 17 hands or more... Thank you for your video. Love learning.

Everybody has to learn, and you will learn much with Santiago. It's very good to take lessons, but maybe they don't are correctlng your sitting position, not that it's bad, but maybe you could be a bit more right up or even a bit backwards. The best solution is to check on a fake horse, where you can see all about your sitting position. It has nothing to do with the horses hight, because i saw you riding a pony in the same way. It's of course normal that you come forward while you're upwards, so not sitting on your horse, don't know the name in english, like a light seat, but not to esrly. Yesterday i saw a video from Mathilde et sligo when she's taking a lesson on a 1,85m horse, so almost like Santiago, where she's been corrected for her sitting position. Ok, it's in french, but you can see what's happening. Yes, i follow channels in dutch, german, spanish, french and english. I don't have intention to blame you, only to help you. And i'm sure that you wiil become a professional jumper, and you have a very good horse to reach this. Follow your dreams.🥰

The people who act like they know the most always know the least and everyone on the youtube comment section is an expert.

so true. the advice is almost never applicable because everyone’s journey and situation is different and of course on youtube you never get the full story.💖
