Nicely done! In stark contrast, I had to suffer an absolutely jerk in my recent game. The drop pod came down in a very inconvenient place; it was half perched in a wide canyon of a cylinder, with its ramp hanging in mid-air with no way to easily get to it. The gunner and I (driller) were stuck down below and down. The scout came and rezzed us. I drilled up to the drop pod along the wall and had to make a leap of faith, and made it. Mr. Gunner was taking a while (I assumed he was behind me, he was not), and I realized he was going back for a supply pod (I assume he didn't have any zip line ammo). Our second driller typed in chat: "JUST die so we can LEAVE!" Well, he didn't, but he got his ammo, came back, made a zip line to get to us. The impatient second driller left as the gunner was coming up the ram and C4'd him back down. I was like "Aw hell no" and jumped out to get him back up. He shouldn't suffer that because of this impatient prick. Well, as I'm rezzing the gunner, he C4's me too. I'm down, so is the gunner. I'm pissed now. So I popped my Iron Will and rezzed the gunner, stormed up the ramp and shot the second driller several times. Wasn't trying to down him, but I wasn't gonna let him win. If I can wait patiently, he can too. Anyway, we evac'd successfully and didn't even get the "you returned while downed" animation thing, whatever it's called. Most people are good on this game, but there are still some freaking jerkbags, man. :/

Died trying to mine the last few Morkite near the top of the cave by using Engineer and created platforms to a swarm that spawned right next to it by surprise. We already got the Morkite and Drop Pod is called. I told them to just leave me behind because I was at the top of a pillar and getting to me will take too much time. The Scout literally said "haha, no lol" and just grappled all the way to the top, killing all the enemies that were surrounding me and revived me. The Driller also came back and drilled an easy way to the Drop Pod, with the gunner staying near the Drop Pod in case all went to shit. Rock and Stone to those fellow Dwarves.

I was on an Ommoron mission guiding a group of 3 greenbeards (I know, my sense of self preservation isn't working properly) and the game bugged out (as it does) at the end of the encounter and I found myself somehow under the Ommoron crystal rock on my knees unable to feel my beard. As we all know, that damn purple mineral can't be drilled through, blown up and it takes 4 or 5 pickaxe hits to make a dent in it. Told them to just leave me and get to the drop pod. And what did these mad lads do? They painstakingly pickaxed their way to me through the most durable material in the game that isn't indestructible just to leave no dwarf behind :')

I know this is not the case in this video, but: The greenhorn scout got told to stay in the pod. His fellow dwarves, with more experience and beard, went back out to save one of their colleagues. While surrounded by the chittering sounds of Glyphids echoing in his steel refuge, he thought to himself: "what is with those old beards about 'leave no dwarves behind'? It's madness! This is my first assignment, and what horrors I have already seen! Giant bugs that can crush you in a single bite. Flying bugs that cruelly grab you and let you drop from great heights. Fire, ice and hazards of any kind. Isn't it better to leave with your own life? I am in just for the paycheck, those old fools be damned!". While the greenbeard made these thoughts, a resounding *BOOM* quaked the earth, shattering it. "Oh great, the driller just coming through. Come on, let's get this over with", thought the scout. And at that point he saw it. The driller, holding the wounded engineer with one hand and shooting fire from his issued CRSPR with the other. The engineer, using his healthy arm to cover the driller blind spots with a shower of micro pellets. And the gunner covering up their back with a storm of lead, keeping at bay a raging tide of bugs. The scout didn't know what was happening inside him. It's almost as if he had an hot sensation inside his very soul. An ember, growing ever more fierce into a raging, bellowing fire for each second. He remembered the tales his grandpa told him, about the spirit of the warriors of old, comrades in arms. He never believed his stories, but he was starting to understand them now. The scout's trembling hands tightened the grip around his rifle; he was on the edge of the Drop Pod's door, a step from safety, but paralyzed by terror. "If I go, what if I die?". While he was hesitating, he saw a particularly nasty bug. Sneaking up on the trio, the Glyphid ignited his flammable sacs, exploding into a ball of fire. The three dwarves fell down to the ground, a dozen meters from the pod. The gunner thought: "Damn, it's over". The scout didn't even realize what happened next. " *FUUUUUCK IIIIIIIT!!!!!!* " His legs were moving on their own. His shout was uneasingly coming out of his mouth. What was he doing? Wasn't all this in contradiction with what he just thought about 'leave no dwarves behind'? Why his chest was burning? Why he couldn't stop? He charged straight at his downed colleagues, his inexperience and trembling hands making his rifle spitting inaccurate fire at the bugs. Strafing on the ground, he took out his flask, and splashed the nano-healing liquid on the gunner. The instructions said it should instantly revive a patient. What happened next was pure confusion to him. He was shooting and roaring back at the skittering tide of bugs, until a hand in a red glove grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back. At the same time, two streams, one of fire and one of lead, passed on his left and right side, respectively. They continued to retreat, pouring death on the Glyphids until the doors of the drop pod closed, and the additional gravity due to the rapid ascent increased. Within his seat, the scout was staring at the floor, still trying to piece together what made him act like that, the burning sensation within his soul hotter than ever. Then, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He saw the face of the driller, with a beaming smile full of dirt and fuel, as he spoke: "That's the spirit, rookie. Rock and stone".

As a scout main, I am always the first one at the drop pod, but that also makes me have to go the furthest to revive someone when they go down. I will go 200 damn meters of I have to to revive them. Idc if they cant make it in time to get to the drop pod, I'll revive them then they are on their own lmao. I'll barely make it back in time and they get left behind anyways, but damn it I won't not revive them.

I'll never forget my first DRG mission. As a newbie driller, I (foolishly) tried to tunnel my way to the drop pod, but I ended up getting downed just before I reached the exit. With just a minute left on the clock, some madlad ran back out and tunneled through several feet of rock to revive me, and we made it back with just seconds to spare. That's how I fell in love with this game.

Once I played Driller, me and my team almost had no ammo and no nitra while we still haven't finished 1 mission objective, BIG wave started with lots of Preatorians and Slashers, 2 Wardens and 2 Bulk Detonators on Haz 4 or 5. Our team got knocked down, used Iron Will to revive me but they still got downed and I ran out of ammo defending myself and trying to revive, another (3rd) Bulk Detonator spawned and more bugs. Somehow I got to mine just enough Nitra while repelling bugs with only my pickaxe and drills to get for supply. Ordered supply pod and almost died when resupplying. Killed most of the small enemies and 1 bulk, then revived my team with sliver of health and again without ammo. My team finished rest of the enemies, we barely made it out alive. And hell it was epic asf.

Probably come back to this video a dozen and a half times by now just to witness it again, truly raw power. Saw this a few months ago the first time, and one purchase and over 100 hours in the mines later its easily cemented as an all time rock and stone moment for me. Who knows how many fresh new dwarves this clip has inspired to gold greenbeards and glory....

8 months later, I'm a new face, and this is still relatable. Just a dwarf being fuck off somewhere on last 3 mins of extraction, but I was no driller, I'm an engie. Still, I mined through with the tiny pickaxe, and eventually the other 2 dwarves at the drop pod picked up what I was doing and WENT ALL IN ON SAVING THAT ONE GUY. We came out all alive.

These moments are what i really like about DRG. The most adrenaline rushing moment trying to save a fallen dwarf no matter what while time is running up and bugs everywhere. One time there was 3 minutes left and i found the last 8 secondary objective apoca blooms and went down. And no one came to save me :(

I went back for a teammate as the driller. I had no idea how he got to where he did but I was forced to drill us back out. I remember counting down the distance to go as the timer ticking down. We made it onto the pod with less than 5 seconds to go. Any screw up on my part of drilling and we wouldn’t have made it. It was so exciting
