Those people who claim to have been living luxury lives back home at the expense of the poor, will never make it here in. If you ask how much were they paying their so-called driver and nanny back home you’ll be shocked and even the working conditions of their so-called workers i don’t want to talk about it. Here you don’t just pay someone whatever comes in your mind if it’s a nanny you pay per hour and not the nonsense you see people do back home.

I went through same and at a point, I thought am better off in Nigeria but I still miss Nigeria and the soft life but am now used to the rigorous life style of hustling. In my view, they've made the right decision. It's better they lose money than to lose their sanity and relationship. Most people come abroad married and divorce within months of arrival. There's no shame in acknowledging that they've made a mistake by taking the step of going abroad. And it still doesn't mean that they still can't make it in canada and settle there. It might just be that this is not the right time and they're not in the right frame of mind to settle yet.

I also think the mindset of wanting to be in Toronto maybe another problem. I am very sure the mad huge rental cost in Ontario would have added to their stress, I would advise people consider other smaller provinces just to save cost. It is still the same country, you can always relocate later to the bigger province when you settle to continue your soft life.

Without knowing the full context & solely based on what has been shared, it sounds like there was little to no preparation for school nor financial planning towards relocation. They can have a nanny & driver if they can plan & afford it - go to school in a province with way less cost of living/relocate with a family member or nanny etc. And they almost sound spoiled. Such attitude may cause limitations in life generally… There is no country (Inc Nigeria) that doesn’t require a level of adjustment, resilience, planning and all that to thrive in.

When I see people rushing out of the country to Canada one question that comes to my mind is, why is Davido, Wizkid, DJ Cuppy, Adenuga, and a lot of celebrities that can afford to relocate, why are they still here? Davido is even a US citizen by birth but he's here in Nigeria. Most of the people that can afford relocating with ease rather go for vacation overseas and return to naija to stay. This speaks volumes and is a pointer that there's something the poor cannot see that the rich can see, as regards living outside the country. In all, it depends on what you want in life and how you want to live your life. But my advice is if you are well to do in Nigeria, you have no business with Japa. Naija is sweeter when you have money. How can I have over 30million and still be thinking of Japa? Am I retarded?
@CanadaInfohub
10 ай бұрын
Truth is they want the passport not necessarily to come and stay, the process of becoming a citizen will require them to stay in Canada. Even the celebrities you mentioned are taking advantage of their dual citizenship which most people who want to Japa also want to have as well

It seems like you're expressing the sentiment that a substantial amount of money, as much as 30 million Naira can make a significant impact on someone's life, especially in the context of the challenges and conditions in Nigeria. It's not a significant amount in these current day. let me break it down for you. Perceived Value of "Million": As of today, N30 million is equivalent to approximately €25,000. The economic environment and prevailing conditions in Nigeria have the tendency to rapidly diminish any amount and consistently alter the parameters, creating almost an impossibility in attaining even modest financial goals, let alone lofty ones. Reasons for Migration: I have a saying "If God does not want us to move, he would have given us roots and not legs". Migration is a natural to all living creatures. Most people Migrate all over the world mainly because of economic challenges and tough living conditions or simply put, a better life. Don't be deceived, europeans migrate alot. Quality of life: You only need to travel out once to see the difference in the quality of life"especially between living conditions abroad and in Nigeria. The basics are available and well within reach of everyone - No prayer needed. There is continual investment in infrastructure and to an extent the people, and we don't need to be rich to afford basic things. there are so many programs that support families too. Challenges Abroad: Of course there are challenges abroad, but we don't worry over most of the things we used to cry about in Nigeria. Sense of value: In my years in Nigeria, our sense of value towards anything keeps dancing along a downward spiral. Now there is even no value for life. it is not the same here. To a large extent there is still a huge sense of value for things and humans here. Summary: Migration is a choice many consider for various reasons. One crucial piece of advice I offer is the acceptance that establishing oneself in a new country is a tough and gradual process. Personally, after five years of legal residence in Europe, I find myself on the verge of complete settlement (physically and mentally). While the journey has been challenging, the ultimate reward makes it worthwhile. The importance of mutual support and unity between couples during this period should not be discarded, as the transition demands collective effort; navigating it alone is not an option.

You are really funny, you are comparing these musicians like Davido Wizkid etc to other people because you think everyone makes the same million they make that makes them go to USA and come back to Nigeria to and fro?? Pls let's not be dense here, there are a lot of reasons behind migration and most of these musicians you are mentioning mostly travel out for there skits and why would they remain when they have already made there millions, comparing them to an average citizen here in Nigeria Is Just a dense way of thinking. The same Davido whom you say is a US citizen, what Is stopping him from going back to US if things cast here in Nigeria. Not everyone have the lives of these celebrities you mentioned let alone live like them so that example you Just gave is totally whack, no offense. Money is not everything, it can't buy your life no matter the amount they offer, what good would 30 million do one if such person is dead?? The level of insecurity here as well as poor healthcare is another thing to consider so I wonder what 30 million would do in a scenario like that. You see people flying out of the country abroad to commence there treatment on some kind of disease they get simply because the country doesn't have the proper health facilities to combat such disease, I'd like to see what 30 million would do then within that vicinity. Money doesn't solve everything as it isn't the answer to everything, it never was and it never will. Like I said there are lot of reasons behind migration and it even applies to wealthy folks who have made there millions, it all comes down to your choice of reasoning and what quality you actually seek in life. I come in peace.

It's unfortunate that people are being misinformed and they also don't make enough research before making their decision. I almost chose immigrating to Canada 🇨🇦 through the study route because the way it was said looked like once you get to Canada that's all there is meaning you are already a permanent resident, infact I never knew there's something like PR self because they're always using the clause "school is the fastest way to immigrate to Canada ". They don't always go further by telling them that one needs to do extra and when they come here, they feel disappointed plus competing with people back home to get PR after spending huge amount of money and tax. I'm sure this might be another reason why the person dropped out, so many international students that i know are depressed. Because what next after schooling and PGWP is expiring? People should be well informed and make proper research especially through the study route ranging from the province, course as well as their CRS after study and work before making that move.

To convert from visitor visa to work permit, you need to find an employer who is willing to file LMIA (Labor Market Impact Assessment). The $1,000 filing fee is paid by employer, not you. Do not pay employer money for LMIA because it is illegal. Once LMIA is approved, you can convert from visitor visa to work permit either inside Canada or through flagpoling.
