The craziest thing to me was the media at the time. They said the pacers would stop the cavs, and Lebron made them look like a JV team. The number 1 seeded raptors were supposed to put an end to his reign in the east, just for him to SWEEP THEM. The celtics lead by a young JT were supposed to take the east, especially after his dunk on lebron that they played as many times as they could on every channel, saying that the celtics had his number once again, just for lebron to demolish any hope they had in game 7. Then, when they lost the finals to the most stacked team in nba history, they wanted to paint it as though lebron had failed and that he didnt just have one of the greatest playoff runs of all time. That was the season that made me hate NBA media more than any other. Theyre leeches that suck on any legend of the game until they can throw dirt on their name to follow trends. I’m someone that thinks Lebron is the goat. That’s probably because I grew up watching Lebron kill my Celtics time and time again, and yeah I didn’t watch Jordan play live. I’ve watched a ton of throwback games, but I never saw Jordan play on a nightly basis, so I might have a bit of bias. Yes he’s lost in the Finals more than he has, yes he doesn’t that “killer instinct” that Kobe and Jordan had. But what Lebron James has done throughout his career is just magnificent. It’s one of a kind. He’s had a million career defining moments, but being in an era where his detractors have a bigger voice than ever….they minimize and forget his performances in preference of diminishing them. If Jordan or Kobe did what Lebron did, it would be something that’s brought up time and time again. I don’t mean to put down Kobe or Jordan. I have my biases. But I should say, Lebron James is my goat. What hes done on the court is just legendary. Yes he’s fizzling out, yeah….LeGM is a thing, but you can’t deny, he’s taken lottery teams to the NBA finals. He may not be the best GM, but he’s the best basketball player I’ve ever watched. Over the years I’ve realized, you gotta appreciate what you have. Because the day it’s gone, it’s gunna hurt. And you’re left with memories. That’s it. Love what you have. Appreciate it, give it your all. Because one day it might not be there, and the regrets will kill you. The regrets I have are killing me. So I watch Lebron and appreciate the fact that though I didn’t do shit with my life, I got to witness something great. I’m not going to get married and have kids, I don’t have a future or a life worth living for, but if I did, I couldn’t wait to tell my kids how great Lebron James was. Sorry for the long comment, I know most won’t read it. But if you did, thank you. Keep your head up, be strong and don’t fuck up your life like me.

Watching this playoff run from Lebron back in 2018. He made me appreciate how great he truly is. At the start of the playoffs I wanted/expected him to lose, but by the end I was sad/mad that he wasn’t able to get that 1 game from golden state. Just to be Abel to top off that run.

Averaged over 30 points every round, while shooting over 50% every round. Had over 8 games with 40 points, and over 6 games with over 10 assists. Complete dominance. Greatest offensive player we’ve ever seen in 2018, you can’t name someone with that level of scoring and passing AT THAT EFFICIENCY

That whole playoffs, especially that finals game 1 was inspiring. Here LeBron alone was fighting an empire, and gave them all they could handle. 51 points, on 59 percent shooting?! I remember the 51, but not the fg %. He had them in a better spot in game 1 of that finals, than the last one with Kyrie. But he couldn't even count on his teammates enough to remember the score..Also he didn't win the MVP that season, when he averaged higher in like everything that Harden did and had no one like CP3 to take enough pressure off him.

2018 playoffs was the perfect storm for LeBron, and I think you can compare this to his 2007 run. LeBron is known for coasting in the regular season so he has no problem ramping up in the playoffs, and it was easy turning on the jets when the teams he faced are great on paper, but lacked a superstar talent or a couple of legitimate stars that can match his output in the court pound for pound. And then he runs into the brick wall that is the West

Considering Jordan averaged over 40 a game as a 23 year old against a 1986 Celtics squad that's one of the best teams of all time, the 2018 East is a cake walk for MJ. You're forgetting that Lebron's high scoring in 2018 is what gave these Cavs a chance (same as in 2016 when they came back from 3-1 along with Kyrie). MJ had scoring outbursts in the playoffs just as good if not better than this on a far more consistent basis in the playoffs than Lebron, particularly up to 1993.

This imo is the best version of LeBron at his peak, and some can say “how if he was more athletic with the Heat”, and I understand but at this point LeBron was matured mentally, seasoned, in the sense where his shot improved DRAMATICALLY from how it was before in his career… he was making reliable fadeaways, mid range jumpers, 3s, man was doing it all that year and playoffs and was still athletic as heck. I would take this LeBron over any LeBron and can see this is one of the best players of all-time.
