How's this for customer service and backing your product.......Early July I bought a Lectric 3.0 from a gentleman on Craigslist with ONE mile on it. His medical situation changed before he had a chance to ride this bike. It was pristine. I put it on my rear carrier and took off from Scottsdale for a 2 month adventure. Bent the handlebars, broke the left brake handle and crushed the controller on the second day on a rough road north of the Grand Canyon. Could not ride it all summer - so MAD at myself for poorly stowing my new bike. Totally my fault. Got back early September and took it in to Lectric Bikes and to my amazement - THEY REPLACED EVERY PART AND WOULD NOT TAKE PAYMENT FROM ME!!!!!!! All the parts were FREE. I did the repairs and I'm riding it today. Thank you, Lectric Bikes.

I have had the lectric xp 2.0 and it has been a great bike. Its plenty fast, good range. I usually get about 15 miles while pedaling very little, 10 with alot of hills. What has impressed me even more than the quality of the bike is the customer service I have recieved from lectric. I had some shipping issues and they offered to send me the upgraded headlight, and mirrors for free as consolation. I also had a damaged front fork (due to rough use) and they replaced it for free under warranty, which arrived in 3 days. Big fan of this company and their products.

I bought the original Lectric bike with 4" tires, and paniers came with it but I ended up buying a couple upgrades such as the seat shock post, & an extra battery. I purchased it for $899 just prior to the pandemic with the intention of taking it with me camping as a foldable trail bike. I put over 400 miles on using it as a city commuter before lockdown. The class 3 update was an immediate fix, but I also found the cruise control feature useful and have also found the uphill walk mode assist handy. The only difficulty I had originally was finding a local shop that would service it. Fixing a flat rear tube and installing thorn liners was tough due to the rear fork tension. They partnered with local shops recently, so getting a proper mechanical fix is now possible. Great bang for the buck!

I would suggest anyone who is considering one should ride it first it might be a deal breaker. The Lectric bike now comes with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes paired with 180mm rotors. They must have seen your review! lol. Unfortunately, the 1000 watt motor makes it illegal on most bike trails and towns. They should have used a 750 watt motor keeping it to 1.0 horsepower. This bike isn't defined as a "bicycle" in PA and DE - where I ride - and where a motor is limited to 750w (1hp)with a top speed of 20mph using throttle-only.

Just a note, I ordered 2 XP 3.0 bikes May 14 (and they were supposedly in stock) and today they told me that my bikes would ship "by the end of July" , 2 weeks ago I was assured that they would ship "by the end of June". The frustrating thing is that no one seems to be addressing the poor customer service. It seems to me that until they start getting bad pr from someone with an audience their going to stay mum. Their bikes seem like the absolute best value proposition, their customer service and communication, not so much.

"Built in Arizona" - doubtful. Assembled in Arizona, perhaps. Like almost ALL other ebikes (especially ones of this configuration) the Lectric bike is manufactured in Taiwan from parts mostly made somewhere in China (not necessarily Taiwan). Many parts on this bike are similar if not the same as other bikes of this size and configuration. From what I've heard, Lectric does a good job of responding to its customers (something not all of them do - I have a personal negative experience with my ebike company, but back then, no "Lectric", "RAD" was just getting rolling, no "Ride1UP", etc). For all the hype about "long range" I was expecting more. And BTW - It is my experience that if you get 15 miles from the first half of the battery, you will NOT get another 15 miles from the second half of the battery. Wind takes a lot more out of your battery than you would expect. And yeah, if you get 30 miles on dead flat Arizona lakebed, then you will probably get about 18 to 20 miles in the rolling hills of "flat" eastern Iowa. My opinion: Those folding handlebars are ALWAYS a hazard. Not enough control (too narrow) for such high speeds and any potential lag in the torque. Also, very tall narrow shaft transmits a lot of vibration into those narrowly separated handles, and to me it has always felt rickety. On my folding bike, I switched out the folding stem and narrow handlebars for BMX style handlebars and a shorter stem. I am still able to fold down the BMX handlebars, though the much smaller stem may stick up only slightly more than the old folding stem. The seat on my ebike is terrible. The seat on this Lectric looks plush, but still not very good for longer rides. Interesting they are using both the spring loaded seat and a spring loaded post. Like on my ebike, the front fork suspension is trash. Yep, mechanical brakes are trash as well (look like the same ones attached to my ebike). Glad they have the 3" tires with a more road friendly tread, mine has the offroad aggressive knobby tread on 4" wide tires. In my opinion the 4" tires I have are a waste. You are really only going to be riding this kind of bike as a grocery getter or short commuter, so why not use a tire that has less friction with the road surface? Critique of your review (aside from any conflicts I mention above): You did not do a battery test! No test of the motor (to see if it meets the claimed 1000 Watt spec). No test of the controller! These are the kinds of things I have come to expect from Hobotech, tests to verify claimed specs meet the spec of what is provided.

I have a few points to add to this review. I'm addressing the people reading the review, rather than HOBOTECH, because I've noticed that he doesn't usually acknowledge "comments" or change his reviews based on those comments. Firstly, you will NOT get this bike for $1000. As he mentioned, as an influencer he was able to request popular upgraded features. As a regular purchaser, I can tell you that it is a great bike, but the standard seat and headlight are awful and that battery isn't standard on the $1000 bike. Costs a lot more to get the upgrade that he has on his bike. All of the things he revealed about "unlocking" the controller are true and easy to do. One of the things that you can do, and isn't mentioned here, is increase your PAS modes from 5 to 9. For those that want to use the bike as an electric scooter, as it seems HOBO does, the bike also has cruise control that will lock the speed, at whatever you are traveling, and you can let go of the throttle. Trust me, that is a great feature on a 20 mile trip and I don't know why it wasn't mentioned in this video. The biggest news that he didn't share, and maybe the company put it out to actual purchasers before they did to the folks that got them as "Freebies", is that in 5 or 6 weeks (today is May 22, 2023) Lectric is going to make a hydraulic brake upgrade available free to folks that bought 3.0 models. They also told me in their email that all future 3.0 bikes would have hydraulic brakes as standard. It's a great bike and you should buy it for the reasons his helpers pointed out and the additional details that I added to this review. I'm a buyer and user and this company has been more than fair in my dealings with them. Two days after I ordered my bike they introduced a promo for some free items if you bought the 3.0. I called them and asked If I could get those items even though I had placed the order before they made the offer and they told me, and I quote, "Well, that would be the only fair thing do, wouldn't it?" A week later I got the items and that is the sort of company my old, conservative, "seen how good it was in the past", ass want's to do future business with. Hope this helps inform someone's opinion about this product.

The 1.0 didn't have the front shock either. So many of the changes I made to my 1.0, the 3.0 has implemented many of the changes (stock brakes I believe are the same). It was my first Ebike and thus not knowing if I'd like the Ebike thing, I went basic entry level at the time. In 2019, the 1.0 listed for the same $999, I was an early buying and believe I paid $899.

To come with suspension and a welded-in rack, is a good deal of added value. The display seems close to universal, see it everywhere, however my Aventon Sinch (version of this XP 3) left this good display for one of color, but with goofy features, while taking away necc. ones. I'd rather know my current amps, vs how many trees they post I saved, on this whacky display. And I am not kidding on the goofy tree saver feature. I'll skip the color and go back to this more functional display. Lectric made a smart move by dropping the monsta 4" tires for the more sane 3" too. Thx for review!

My version one of the LectricXP bike has unlimited range because I like to peddle. The mechanical brakes are fine. It is the operator that needs to learn to plan the stops better. Bikes can cost quit a ways on the flat tar roads.

What about strapping a solar generator to that cargorack and charging on the go. I'm guessing it can't be used while charging but you could pedal for a bit?

You said the bike is assembled in the USA, I believe the bike is made and assembled in China according to the specks of lectric bike company. The hub motor is a 500 watt that generates up to 1000 watts delivered. I bought the xp 3 long range and it runs and looks great. I'm almost 80 and have no problems riding the step thru model. The front tire had a slow leak and I added slime to it and stopped it for now. There is no paper manual shipped with the bike, it is on line. I called the factory and they told me they stop putting a paperback manual with the bikes because of the green policy, but I think it is more of a cost savings for the company. Paper is a renewable resource. I'm over 6' and weigh 240lbs and the bike has no problem powering me down the road and the brakes work fine.

Excellent review. Reviews of things not just solgen/batteries is a wonderful trajectory! Q: are hydraulic brakes an option? Is there a refit possible?

They added hydraulic brakes as standard sometime after the video was done. My order (which I haven't received yet) is supposed to have been upgraded to them. They're currently on a July shipping timeframe for new orders according to their site.

Very cool, but I went to their page, chose to only allow necessary cookies (refusing all others), not clicking anything at the site or even scrolling.... and in those few seconds had 37 cookies. Not sure I trust the place after that. I'm a lot more paranoid about cookies than I used to be... judge places on how easily they invade my privacy.

If you pay for expert riding training, you can fold it up small enough to fit in one inventory slot.

You said that Lectric was running a special at $999 and that's incorrect. The regular price on the XP 3.0 is $999; their XP 3.0 long-range is $1199. My wife and I have XP 2.0s and love 'em!!

Hey, just wanted to comment to help the Chanel.. your poll the other day trying to figure out why the low viewership on thus video (I think) didn't have an option for my reason. My rig always has space for full-size bicycles [oversized by most standards) as I, and many like me, ride MTB's. While I'm interested in Ebikes, mine will be as capable a bike as any of my others, so folding bikes are not as interesting

It talks about the way to change to class 3 in the bike but you have to take the label off saying it is class 2. Also, turn the 'walking' mode off unless you are a fast walker. My brother has an expensive ebike but it does not have cruise control like Lectric.

My questions are: what is the lowest height person that can ride this bike so they can put their feet down and do the handlebars adjust backward so a short person can sit upright instead of leaning forward causing strain to the low back and neck muscles suspending the head in forward head posture? If not, these two features need to be accommodated.

I had folk about your size (actually bigger) ride it and they said it was comfortable. You just have to adjust the seat and tire pressure to suit.

I was about to purchase a Lectric bike a couple of times, but chickened out because I felt I would be riding a moving billboard with that giant "Lectric" on the frame. I wanted something a little more stealth.
