I bought the White 'bargain seat' (they only had a choice of red or all black when I bought mine) and the Zoom seat post after watching this video. I would rate it as a much larger improvement than he mentioned in the video - A HUGE improvement, IMO.. I chose the bargain seat based on the compliance of it's springs, shown in the video. The Cloud 9 seat's springs look like they were designed for a 400 pound rider as they were not flexing at all and now I know why the Cloud 9 I bought for my last bike was such a waste of money. If you buy this seat and then play around with the spring adjustment in the Zoom post and get it just right for your weight, you will end up with at LEAST a 5X more comfortable ride than the stock seat on the stock seat post . . . . and all for about $50. Certainly the biggest bang for the buck of all the mods I've made to my bike. Kudos for a very well made and very helpful video! - I don't usually run out and buy things based on a single video, but it really paid off this time

Thanks so much for the kind words and feedback! I am glad the video was helpful and I will definitely take your advice and try playing around with the adjustments now. It was such an improvement without adjusting anything, I didn't bother trying. After reading your post, I will try a bunch of different levels. Now that I've been riding a little longer, I agree with you that the Cloud 9 springs don't do as much as the white seat springs do.

Nice review! Just received my XP 2.0 Step-Thru and it’s my favorite ebike so far. I like the size and overall versatility and so far the best value and support. I labored for weeks making a decision on a folder with more power than the XP at a good price. I finally gave up and glad I bought the XP after receiving it. I’m now working on accessorizing the bike but I have to say it really doesn’t need much. Mainly a more comfortable seat and good bike lock to slow down the thieves. Also added a six gallon milk crate on the rear rack for hauling. Lectric is shipping me the comfort seat package included with the Mother’s Day bundle. Waiting to see how comfortable it is and if I will need to improve further with better seat and post. Thanks!

Nice demonstration! I think it would be cool if you did a comparison between the comfort group that you can now order from Electric versus the Cloud 9 and that Zoom post. My bikes are on order, and I ordered that Comfort group with them because I heard of the complaints about the stock seat.

The Cloud 9 was definitely a little more soft when I focused on what I was feeling. I now realize that most of the time the white seat is comfortable enough that I don't have any discomfort so I don't even think about what seat I have on. Since it is about 2 pounds lighter, I will be using the white seat more to save that little extra weight to get a little more battery life. I know it's not a lot to make a difference by itself, but when I put all the accessories and stuff that adds extra weight together, that 2 pounds may help to squeeze out maybe a mile or two when I really need it or if the battery dies and I need to manpower pedal my way home.

@EbikeProducts

The C9 will work with almost any seat post and should be compatible to work with the XPeak. The XPeak has a 31.8mm seatpost diameter and the 31.6mm posts should fit and will just need the bracket tightening screw turned a couple of times.

What seat and post you recommend for a 6 foot three 275 pound man? Everything seems made for me, but my husband is outside the weight range of everything we were looking at. Ideally post needs to be a bit tall, and max out above the top 250lbs we've found.

I am so sorry, but at this time I don't have any recommendations for riders that tall on a Lectric XP. Is it an option to look for a larger ebike for him with a little more power? It would be a lot more comfortable for him. Something like the Magicycle Cruiser, Snapcycle R1, or Mokwheel Upland. These are all on the larger side and you wouldn't need such a long post. All of them would also be able to flatten hills pretty easily even at 275.

Is there a specific Post Length I must have for my Lectric XP 2.0 STEP-THRU MODEL
@EbikeProducts
2 жыл бұрын
The length is all depends on how tall you are. The ZOOM posts I sell are 31.6mm in diameter and guaranteed to fit all the Lectric 2.0 and 1.0 ebikes and are recommended for those between 5'2" and 6' tall. If you decide to buy another suspension seat post elsewhere, just be sure it is at least 31.6mm diameter up to 31.8 max. I've only tried the 31.6mm, but the stock post on the 1.0 was 31.8mm so that should work on third party posts too.

What is the maximum rider weight for the suspension seat post?
@EbikeProducts
2 жыл бұрын
ZOOM (the manufacturer) rates the maximum recommended weight at 220lbs. I know of riders and others who were heavier and said they didn't have a problem with it, but I am not sure how much spring back it will give even if you tighten the adjustment to it's max.

How tall are you? Would the zoom and cloud work for a 5'5 guy with 29" inseam?
@EbikeProducts
3 жыл бұрын
Coincidentally, I am exactly 5'5" tall and also with 29" inseam too! I have the seat lifted a few inches off the minimum to get full leg extensions while peddling and dismount from the seat at stops. It's my most comfortable way to ride. You should be able to reach the ground if you want to put the Zoom seatpost all the way down with a Cloud 9 on it, but I don't think you'll be flatfooted. The zoom post and cloud 9 add about 2 inches more than the stock seat and post at their lowest point.

How does the Zoom seat post compare to the Lectric suspension post?
@EbikeProducts
2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure about the performance differences of the posts, but a big difference is the length. The Zoom posts is too short for anyone over 6 feet tall who wants full leg extension when riding. Check out Jeremiah McIntosh’s channel. He has a great video comparing them (and maybe even more than just those 2)

@@EbikeProducts I'm 6'2.5", but I have a long torso. When I bought my mountain bike, I was looking at one model and the salesman told me not to bother, that I was too short for that bike. First time I'd ever been called short in my life. He meant that my legs were proportionately short for my height, so maybe the Zoom will work.

how did you come up with such a stupid idea to test the saddle for softness. using shock-absorbing pins??? attach an ordinary piece of plywood to the pin with a spring and it will already ride softly and comfortably! you can even see from the video that the cushioning of the saddle does not work !!! since the pin absorbs the entire amplitude of vibrations. and you just liked the saddle with more paralon!!! remove adequate video. with a conventional hard pin. and compare comfort!
@EbikeProducts
Жыл бұрын
Mmmm. The test is actually very real in feeling comfort difference even with a suspension seatpost. You’re right that the comfort of a seat softness may have been amplified better if it was a solid seat post rather than one with some spring in it, but the seat softness is still huge in feeling comfort differences between brands. I guess the seat post springs really work for bigger impacts, but standard ride (non bumpy) feelings are first felt from the softener saddle before bumps get felt later. Sorry, it’s hard to explain, but rest assured the difference between seats feel is significant in the test. Thanks for the feedback!
@TOLCTbl_XOMKA
Жыл бұрын
a comfort test would be better and more objective if external factors affecting comfort are excluded. let only the saddle show comfort. to show your best. another minus of your test: you used different racks! each rack is individual in terms of softness and cushioning. even if you deepen the adjustment nut by the same distance! these are not precision instruments. and for their manufacture different alloys and different hardening of springs are used by different companies. even for the same company. Springs may vary between batches. that will not be a violation during manufacture. and using different racks you could already use somewhere softer, somewhere tighter springs in the racks themselves. which will affect the comfort of the trip. and for this reason it might seem to you that some saddle is softer on bumps, some is rougher. so the only option that can give an assessment of saddle comfort is to use a rigid seatpost. ;) and when the best saddle will be determined. then in combination with a shock-absorbing pin. there will be maximum comfort. :))))) even how tight the plastic stem guide is. and its lubricant. greatly affect the ease of movement of the rod in the pin. and there will already be differences in comfort on bumps. in any case, when using a shock-absorbing pin. only the amount of paralon in the saddle will somehow affect the sensations. and nothing more.
@TOLCTbl_XOMKA
Жыл бұрын
saddle with rubber shock absorber. will be comfortable only on smooth asphalt. a saddle with double springs only works if the rider is very heavy. the only saddle cushioning option that works everywhere is single steel springs.
