*Superposition Theorem*
The Superposition Theorem is a fundamental principle in electrical engineering used to analyze circuits with multiple independent sources. According to this theorem, the response (voltage or current) in any branch of a linear circuit with multiple independent sources is the sum of the responses caused by each independent source acting alone while all other independent sources are turned off (replaced by their internal resistances).
To apply the Superposition Theorem, follow these steps:
1. **Turn off all independent sources except one**: For voltage sources, replace them with a short circuit (0V). For current sources, replace them with an open circuit (0A).
2. **Analyze the circuit**: Calculate the response (voltage or current) due to the single active source.
3. **Repeat for each independent source**: Turn on each source one at a time, turn off the others, and calculate the response.
4. **Sum the individual responses**: Add all the individual responses to find the total response in the circuit.
The Superposition Theorem is particularly useful for simplifying the analysis of complex linear circuits, making it easier to understand the contribution of each source to the overall behavior of the circuit.
