Teacher, I want to know how you got your variance @ s² 32.44... and how you calculated Ex² = 13252... Thank you.
@benishali
3 жыл бұрын
You can see calculation of variance from here kzitem.info/news/bejne/p36gnmdpcHVjmmU . General formula is (sum of squares / n-1). Ex² is calculated by taking square of individual observations and then taking their sum, e.g. observations are 2, 3, 4. You will take square of 2, i.e. 4; and square of 3, i.e. 9 and square of 4, i.e. 16. Now you will take the sum of square values, i.e. 4+9+16=29. This is your Ex² . It is different from (Ex)² in which you first take sum of all observations, i.e. 2+3+4=9 and then take square of sum, i.e. (9)² = 81.

Mam if we want to calculate separate effect of each treatment like for ex for A how it could be done?
@benishali
3 жыл бұрын
Usually comparison of different treatments with each other is done. If you want to see the effect of only one of the treatments, you can do it by designing an experiment with two groups: one with the treatment you want and other placebo or control with no treatment. Comparison of these two groups can give you an idea of the effect of only one treatment.

How did you getbthe table value = 5.34?
@benishali
2 жыл бұрын
You can retrieve the value from Fmax distribution table. This table can be found in statistics books or from some online resources like these two: webspace.ship.edu/pgmarr/Geo441/Tables/Hartley%27s%20Fmax%20Table.pdf archive.bio.ed.ac.uk/jdeacon/statistics/table8.htm You need to know: 1. Your desired alpha level (level of significance, i.e. p 0.05), 2. Number of treatments or samples and 3. Degree of freedom for the smallest sample. Hope this helps!

Uhm, hi... May I ask if it is okay to arrange them into categories according to the treatments after applying the random treatments?? Or will it remove the purpose of the design? I'm quite new to this so thingd are still too hazy for me....
@benishali
3 жыл бұрын
Theoretically because we are assuming that conditions are homogeneous so they probably can be arranged.

@@benishali Q1: A researcher was interested to compare the effect of 5 different chemical concentrations on the growth (in cm) of a particular crop. The plants were arranged in 20 different pots in the lab conditions by using a specific chemical concentration in 4 different pots. a). Which experimental design you will suggest to compare the effect of 5 different chemical concentrations, justify your statement. b). What will be the layout of this experiment, denote 5 different chemical concentrations as A, B, C, D and E. c). Identify dependent and independent variables in this experiment. Also identify the experimental unit. d). Draw ANOVA for this particular experiment showing the first two columns. e). Justify, whether the experiment is a single factor experiment or multi-factor experiment?
@benishali
3 жыл бұрын
@@HINAKHAN-ln3fu What I suppose, it should be CRD because it is to be applied in lab conditions and you're testing the effect of only one variable. If there are 20 pots and 5 treatments, you can replicate each treatment 4 times. And you should assign these treatments randomly. Dependent variable is growth of crop. Independent variable is chemical concentration. Experimental unit is a single pot. You can do one-way ANOVA. You can check my video on one-way ANOVA computation. Single factor because you're studying the effect of a single variable.
