I'm in a phd program within a biology department and I still have to come back every now and then to review this stuff. Do not lose heart if you struggle with this. Most people do.

I wasn't going to comment but gosh! You're an amazing professor! As a foreign student who was getting frustrated with her (medical) genetics course (since it's in a language I don't fluently speak/understand) you have taught me so much! It's awesome to actually come across an English speaking teacher who enthusiastically teaches, I'm excited to learn. God bless you :)

Why isn't Muntiacus reevesi diploid? And what is the matter with the odd chromosomes? From whom do they get them and what is their purpose?
@gaurangdeodhar1720
3 жыл бұрын
Sir , I have a doubt as you said that more number of chromosomes leads to more complexity of division process but this number doesn't affect complexity of organisms. But when we see the most organisms we notice that the other life processes and more complex in higher organisms and simpler in lower ones. So why do we have this as exception ? The second question is chromosome numbers are really related to some significant characters or just a factual number that doesn't tell anything else ..? And I also need to appreciate and thank you for your efforts. 🙏 Your love for Nucleosomes .😀 Inspires me to love science again thanks a lot.

1:02:00 Why there's 4 chromosomes per cell and then 8 in Anaphase? I thought we have 46? (In that case it'll be 46 then 92 in Anaphase) Or is just and example to draw 4 chromosomes instead of 46? ¡Starting Genetics in monday! - Greetings from Mexico

Can mitosis ever be interrupted before cytokinesis? For instance, imagine that a cell replicates its DNA but never splits into two daughter cells. Is this possible?

Any genuine failure in learning for a student that’s trying to learn is the fault of the instructor, not the student. Of course you’re smart enough to understand STEM, and you always were.

Lol! Great catch, Void. All these years and I never spotted the error. The table is mistaken. 23 is the haploid number for this species. The diploid chromosome number is 46 ( just like humans). Thanks for the comment and the sharp eyes!
