the best use for youtube is for sharing knowledge with those who will never be able to stand in a top University , thanks you for sharig your clases

Look at the number of student in Lec. 1 vs Lec. 22. I know this happens in general in many courses, but it gives me a sense of respect to those who survived. Haha

I’m not a jealous or envious person, but I would trade places with a fly on the wall. Those students are I’m sure brilliant, but also, blessed or favored by fortune. What a treasure to be handed to sit in a class room with Edward Witten as your teacher.

Here's a summary of the class... 16:56 Student comes in late because his future job at NASA only depends on CGI animation, not actual physics. 1:09:35 Woman in front row lets her hair down because she realizes attracting her future husband's attention and making his sandwiches will be much easier than a job integrating deltas and finding derivatives of gray body factors that have completely obstructed Newton waves assuming the angular momentum is zero with a one plus one dimensional massless free field.

Does everyone appreciate the amount of exertion and physical stamina? The doctor Witten has to exert in order to do this? BTW, when his phone rings near the end of the lecture, and the reminder alarm goes off, I believe that was the mothership reminding him that he needs to get in his flying saucer and go somewhere else :-).

When a student asks a question unrelated to what is being discussed in class a teacher has to begin examining the question and that takes time. That's why Witten simply mentioned the difficulties versus going through an examination of the question in class. As a teacher myself that's what you have to do in order to sometimes begin a lecture without being diverted to another topic in class.

Based on my estimate, assuming the number of students in the video frame is a representative sample of the entire class (along with few more assumptions :-)) approximately only 1 in 4 students made it to the end.

There were no exams! Everyone basically passed. Just the allure of coming to class and seeing witten in person wore off I guess :/ I decided to show up because it was the last class so why not xD

The classroom is far bigger than what the camera allows you to see. There are far more students present than you are aware.

Definitely not a class I could leave to take a leak during. I'd probably just cut my losses and drop the class if it came to that. Too much is going on to miss even the slightest detail, in order to keep up.

Writing and explaining equations is not how you teach a class. 0 engagement, 0 pauses for questions because people are so lost, he’s smart but he’s better at putting people to sleep than a white noise machine

gravity is the most powerful force in the universe and not the weakest, if you understand you that, you understand everything......gravity is what the ancients were talking about when they spoke of GOD; an omni present, single thing that occupies all space and all time at every point....bender of light and traveler of time...good luck.......
@cngrinder9423
Жыл бұрын
youve got to specialize in what you refer as powerful, as a constant thing in nature, the effect of gravity is super weak and that's why we only see it present in large scales
@kgtrains

@@cngrinder9423 that weak force holds the entire universe together, it can bend light and slow time....no way that is weak.
