Thanks for posting this. Tje sodium vapour process was originally created in the UK at Rank Film Studios and used in several British films of the 195os. It was developed and further enhanced by the Disney studio in the 50s and 60s.

So this guy's Ub iwerks was not only the sfx genius behind this process, he design the multiplan camera and also Mickey Mousse, what a crazy unknow genius !!! Probably the best analog matte painting process ever...

Sidharth also, "Bedknobs and Broomsticks." Interesting process, yellowscreen. I read that "Dick Tracy" was one of the last to use it. "Pete's Dragon."

That's because it was Disney Studios that perfected the process in the first place. Plus they also had the only working prism capable of the process, so any other filmmakers had to lease it from them (which is what Hitchcock did & why Disney tech-wiz Ub Iwerks got a screen-credit at the beginning of "The Birds.")
