A tour of under cabinet, in-cabinet, over-cabinet, pantry and in-drawer LED kitchen lighting retrofitted into an existing kitchen.
The video recorded at about 10 minutes and I decided to cover it in 5 and let you get on to other things. Let me know if there is something you want to see in more detail.
Its been two years since I finished the kitchen and all is still working just fine.
I am way behind in videos. In future videos you will see I have developed a preference for putting the motion sensor under the upper cabinets if I can hide them well enough.
The parts used in the kitchen:
This video shows how to do the wire shelved pantry.

The switches I used in this install are covered in this video. I most frequently use limit switches now. When someone want to pay the cost I will also use magnetic switches. The delivery time for the ones in this video is too long if you need them within a week.

You may have noticed you don't see any wires in the install. This video covers techniques used in this video for hiding the wires.

In this video I cover the motion sensors I used at the time and still continue to use. My preference is the small unit. I recently figured out a way to not use the big connectors. I show that in my entertainment center video.

Power supplies continue to be my biggest issue. When you find one you like it will likely not be available in a couple of months. I have also encountered several "NOT NEW" power supplies which I cover in a video below. I still like using waterproof power supplies in kitchens even though they cost more. UL listing is a good attribute. If you want to put your motion sensor on a wall dimmer spend the money on a magnetic switch. They are pricey but they work as advertised. The power supply video I did I never published. I will get back to doing another. Just make sure you can cover your rated amperage in your install.
Lights. I still use the LightingEver LE 2835 strings in this video. Getting ledmo 5630 warm white non-waterproof has been difficult and most people like its color the most the counters. While more on the soft white side I have used some LE 5050 warm white lately and they have worked just fine. While this pantry has a blueish daylight white, most installs I have done since are using the 2835 warm white waterproof. It just has nice clear illumination.
Wire:
The most readily available is home depot carol 18/2 or 22/2 shielded wire. You can order a red/black roll from many sources. The shielding does slow you down. Since I use so much wire over time I usually order large rolls w/o the shielding.
