Jimmy page is one of the most captivating soloist the rock world has ever known. Daring, spontaneous, melodic, bluesy, diverse, flashy, breathtaking, and yes sloppy . That's the best part , the sloppiness , the ability to play with heart and feeling , the master at improvising . Who said that rock n roll had to be played perfect . Page may occasionally crash and burn, the next moment he's soaring to unprecedented heights. Yes, that's why he's my favorite guitar player of all time. Long live ZEPPELIN , GO PAGE 🎸

Led Zeppelin performed their first public concert at all in Denmark as ‘The New Yeardbirds’ on 7 September 1968 in Gladsaxe Teen Club near Copenhagen - the group was only one week old, and they rehearsed (Yeardbird songs?) all afternoon. Before the concert the organizers were a bit disappointed that it was not the original Yeardbirds, but only Jimmy Page with a new band. After the concert they were not disappointed at all. Next time Led Zeppelin came to Denmark, as you can see, they still had to introduce them selves, because the first LP was not out in Europe yet. I remember seeing this on Danish Television back then. For years I thought the recording was lost. Fortunately it wasn't.

I love the way audiences from the late sixties really listen seriously to the music, just sitting and maybe nodding their heads, without all the whooping (wooo! wooo!) that audiences do today. You know that if this were performed today, during that quiet break in the middle when plant sings, "I've got you in my sites," the audience would be ruining it with "Wheeeewww!!! Wheeeeeeww!! Wheeeeeeww!!" during the rests.

I was at my cousins house Pensacola FL 68, 69 one of them,, we were walking past a school that had a pool room and game room and loud music, I got close enough to hear it, that's the greatest sound I've ever heard, it was Whole lotta Love, I stopped in my tracks,,, FROZE,,,, talked about being a little rock n roller, I was born in 1960, I was 8 or so,,,, I was hooked like a Halibut, kid you not,,, 59 right now and I still love it like the first time,,, love my Zepplin and 70's rock,,,,, I still get my energy from rock n roll,,,,, hate to say it, but rock seems dead,, other than the GREATEST bands ever, 70's, 80's,,, so many great bands, every week back then a new album, Nugent, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Foghat, Blue Oyster Cult, Alice Cooper,,Montrose, Humble Pie, Nazareth, UFO, Van Halen, Skyryrd, Molly Hatchett, Cheap Trick, Ac/dc etc etc etc etc

I was born in 64 and born into an extended family of musicians, it wasn't hard to imagine me getting hooked by rock and roll. I think I was 7 and found a 45 of one of my uncle's Doors-Light My Fire. I wore that thing out the first week. Then, it was listening to the radio and going to the record store to listen. The first time I heard Zeppelin was around 10, but I didn't know the band name. It took a few more years but I was hooked ever since. Just think that the audience is probably around 60s-70s by now. At 55, I'm still hooked.

+joe smith People are followers most of the time. I don't think it was "appropriate" to rock out back then. As a rule, the British are really reserved. These days we are a little more able to express ourselves more freely and not fear any chastisement. That, or I'm getting old enough not to give a shit and rock out.

All I can say when I see stuff like this is Oh My God. Young men playing music like seasoned old men. All playing at their best. I still don't understand how the audience in these old shows could manage to stay still. Only at the end do they start to realize that they've just been hit by the hammer of the gods and start to move to the music. Amazing footage.
