This song sounds like it should be sung in a dark, smokey bar by a torch singer with a spotlight on their face; just coming out of the gloom and baring their soul. Bonzo considered this one of Robert's best vocals. Please do CODA!

Biz, do you finally realize there are 30 songs in your Zeppelin Top 10? This song is in my Top 10. It seems younger generations like this album more than us 50-60 yr olds. Make sure you react to Traveling Riverside Blues, if you haven't.

Over the years I've appreciated ITTOD a lot more. Zeppelin was past their peak during this period but it was still a solid record. Zeppelin never put out a bad album in 12 years which isn't the case for many groups. Their records ranged from good to incredible.

John Bonham was depressed with his beautiful drums on this record....he thought he was "the worst drummer there was"....and we drummers practically worship these recordings! THIS ALBUM WAS MY BIGGEST INFLUENCE JOHN! I`m not the only one! My goodness man! So much beauty, precision, sloppiness, feeling, simplicity, rhythm, groove, tone, accuracy, power, dynamics, structure, genius, surprises, magic....EVERYTHING WE LOVE!

You are brilliant my homie my brother your knowledge is so big picture ALL GENRES... is incredible possibly unrivaled 💯!!!! I am a big led Zeppelin fan but this song right here there's so many different things... synthesizer is so sublime but dramatic and I love that word you used crisp drums!! It's a slower timing it draws you out in a certain way. The song put you in a certain mood even minus the lyrics. The breaks on the song are incredible the stops and starts.. then the solo is so fuzzy prismatic warm and just takes you back somewhere in time. But it all works together there is some kind of beautiful primal desperate tone in his voice that plays off the slight distortion of that guitar and the bass is so solid with the drums One of the best songs I've ever heard their take on soulful blues

Hey Biz absolutely loved your Zeppelin journey it’s been a blast ,but it’s not over you know about Coda I know, then you can dip into Celebration Day live at the O2 the you need to prepare yourself for Robert Plants discography since the demise of Led Zeppelin 14 studio albums. I’m telling you a more diverse artist you will not find the man is an ever changing chameleon 😎😎😎

QUESTION…. would you say current artists put out releases with “filler”? they have a couple, if THAT many, hot tracks but the rest is crap? (meaning that acts from the past put more care into giving fans a more full experience?). i’m kinda high so if you need a better explanation that might have to come later. LOL!! i just remember listening to a whole lp and liking a majority of the music compared to just tolerating a few cuts from current groups. would like some suggestions of some current releases that people find satisfactory from beginning to end. btw… i really don’t care for pop music so let’s skip that, pls!

it's not a crime, but Led Zep should be illegal...j/k EDIT: 2 Faves off this album, "In The Evening" and this one playing, "I'm Gonna Crawl." It's my least liked Zep record, probably bc Jimmy did less songwriting at that time... most of the Album was the work of Plant and JPJ. Jimmy Page did do a great job producing, as always, just not great material.

Okay okay .. we understand.. but it doesn't matter what you say about Jimmy's input .. or his guitar playing.. just listen and accept the facts that he was able to apply this tremendous and spectacular guitar solo in to such a very heartfelt song .. the singing , the emotion by Robert Plant is just phenomenal, sorry bro, no matter what you or anyone thinks, Jimmy's heart and his guitar playing, is very much in to this song .. maybe not the whole album, but stop being such a critique and just sit back and listen to this Masterpiece by all the band members.. it's Led Zeppelin.. the ups and downs.. who hasn't had them...?
