Your grandmother and grand father rocked to. Today’s musicians are all about the singer only.

Striking contrast between the younger generation and mine. The previous are mostly about the lyrics, we were and still are mostly about the music. Enormous difference.

The original LOTR books are full of poetry and songs. You don't get that in the films. I'm not sure that they'd be in the audio books either. Robert Plant would have read the original books since the other forms didn't exist at the time.

Singer Robert Plant was very into The Hobbit/LOTR (as were a lot of people in the 70s and beyond) but Zeppelin lyrics are not always meant to be "figured out" so just enjoy the music and feel what it means to you. I hope you continue with more Zep.

They reference LOTR in their song, "Battle of Evermore". Ringwraiths ride in black.

Ease up on the lyric dissection, listen again and appreciate the musicianship. You missed so much by concentrating solely on the lyrics.
