The great master of boogie-woogie piano, is Ian Stewart who laid down the keys for this one. Ian Stewart worked extensively with The Rolling Stones and other groups of the period. He was a highly sought after force-multiplier in studio sessions! 💪🏻🎹👍🏻

Don't let your anticipation of "more intense" disappoint you. It gets "more interesting" for sure. You're gonna get a bit of "trippy", a bit of "folksy", Stairway as the anthem, one that's "trippy" and bangin', and you've heard how they end with a bang with "When the Levee Breaks". Just enjoy the ride! It's all good...

@@joetspaulding Another song with him is on Physical Graffiti, Boogie With Stu. The song facts say: "Stu" Ian Stewart, the Rolling Stones road manager and piano player. The song was recorded when Led Zeppelin was set up in Headley Grange. They were using the Rolling Stones mobile recording unit and Stu stopped in. There was an old piano in the main room that was slightly out of tune. Stu was playing it and Jimmy Page was tuning his guitar to how the piano was out of tune. Tape was rolling and everything was pretty much improvised from Bonzo's drumming to the lyrics Plant was singing".

You'd think this would be John Paul Jones on the keys since he usually did play them for the band, however, on this song, it's pianist Ian Stewart who was a co-founder of the Rolling Stones. He was removed due to a lineup change but would stay on to be the Stones' road manager and played keys for them.

Hey Biz love your reactions, it’s like listening to the songs for the first time again. The piano you hear toward the end of this song is Ian Stewart, who was a contributor with The Rolling Stones and was helping Zeppelin at the LZ4 sessions in Headley Grange, England. It’s a rarity that any guests played with the group, so this one’s a rare treat.

Led Zeppelin was the best rock group IMO. Second is a toss up between Rolling Stones and The Who (I think The Who). Only Led Zeppelin album I bought back in the day was Led Zeppelin IV because of the Mega hit, Stairway to Heaven. But I like this song on the album and When the Levee Breaks. As an aside, Stairway to Heaven was played so much and for so many years on radio that we got tired of hearing it. Even the band got tired of the song and stopped playing it in concert. But in the last few years, Jimmy Page (who wrote the music, Plant the lyrics for Stairway) says that Stairway was their masterpiece, the one song of theirs that will live as long as music is heard. That said, I've heard most of the music from other albums of LZ, just never bought them because I was more into the singer/songwriter music in the early to mid 70s (the Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young, James Taylor, Carole King, etc).
