One reason Robert was so emotional was he didn't know that his best friend/drummer's son was going to be there. Love how Jason looked up to the heavens. The other artists who sang tribute to Led, were the ones who came out on the stage at the end. Ann and Nancy stold the show.

They were crying because they had invited John's (their drummer) son to the event and he turned them down telling them he had another job to deal with. To their surprise, the event WAS that job. When he walked on stage and played the very song his father did (and brilliantly btw) it was bittersweet to them. He played his father's drums and song perfectly. RIP John Bonham💔

Ann Wilson has one of the most powerful female voices. And her sister Nancy can play a mean guitar. This is one of the best tributes to Led Zeppelin with Ann & Nancy doing the classic song "Stairway To Heaven". No one else could have pulled it off as well. From left to right, the gentlemen with the ribbons around their necks are Led Zeppelin members, John Paul Jones, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. The drummer is Jason Bonham, son of John Bonham, their original drummer who died in 1980. He is also Robert Plant's godson. The singer is Ann Wilson from Heart and the blond guitarist is Nancy Wilson, her sister. This was in 2012, so Ann was 62 when she performed this. She just dropped a duet with David Draiman on Disturbed's latest album in November. In her early 70s, she is still killing it and THE rock goddess, as far as I'm concerned! Check out Heart from the 70s and 80s. Start with "Crazy On You" or "Barracuda." Ann's voice is insane in a different way in her younger years, it just aged like fine wine ... can you tell I fangirl over her? Lol. BTW, you were close ... it wasn't Phylicia Rashad, but her sister, Debbie Allen in the audience!

You should also start digging into the Led Zeppelin catalog of songs. Especially the seven studio albums. All four members were extremely talented at their craft. They could play soft melodies, blues, hard rock. If you want a sample of their ability to do blues, check out the studio version of "Since I've Been Loving You" from their 3rd album. But my personal favorite is "Kashmir" performed live at the Celebration Day Concert in 2007 at London's O2 Arena. Their late drummer's son, Jason Bonham, hit the skins in place of his dad and kills it. Unfortunately, John Bonham died in 1980. R.I.P. Bonzo.

5:00 I'm at the point where you said he's crying, he's definitely trying to stop himself from crying right now. Yeah that is John Paul Jones on the left, played the bass and keyboards and lots of other stuff. That is the lead singer and frontman Robert Plant in the middle with the brown curly hair, and then that is one of the most famous guitar players of all time, Jimmy Page on the right. What the more distinguish older gray hair that is swept back. I think it's fascinating that you saw the original just recently and then here is that Lincoln Center tribute to them literally decades and decades later. And it is so emotional and moving because the death of the incredible John Bonham, their drummer and friend, at way too young of an age, abruptly ended Led Zeppelin right when they were at this massive supergroup level of popularity and accomplishment. It was just so sad. It was only a few years after the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash that ended that incredible band. These are some of the greatest bands in rock and roll. And in fact Stairway to Heaven here by Led Zeppelin and Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd are really the two most anthemic songs of all rock and roll. Every time it is revealed that there is Jason Bonham, John Bonham's son at the drums. And when his time comes and they put the spotlight on him, almost always get choked with emotion and there you see the others, particularly Robert Plant doing the same. It's just too much you know. It's just too much. I can't remember if you have reacted to Heart yet, definitely check out Magic Man and Barracuda and crazy on you, and if you do crazy on you, definitely do one of the live Clips where you have and Wilson on guitar doing her acoustic intro to Crazy On You.
