Sounds like a winner to me. You should be good out to as far as .17 caliber goes. I know you're going to have fun with it.

The 223 die is work hardening the brass even more is why it forms easier. It's not making it smaller enough to matter

I need to start loading metallic. I’ve loaded shotgun for 50 years. This looks like a great fun!

@@TheBlackTrapper From what I can see, shotshells are much less finicky. You follow the recipe and you’re pretty much good. The only thing Ive had trouble with is stack height. If you use an aftermarket wad that’s supposed to a clone of the original it may be too short or tall causing a bad crimp. Sometimes you need to try a different “clone “ to get a better crimp.

If you need to, you can harden that brass with a torch and ice water

Range brass might need to be annealed first, but your KAK brass has been annealed for you.

I said that you need to run the cases thru a Mandrel die or replace expander ball and run back thru die or you will have issues with dimension's.

Wolfie the dents you get in the shoulders are from using to much lube . With the resizing wax you use, I dab my finger in that stuff every 10th case or so.
