I actually got to meet Lee Marvin in Cairns, North Queensland in the early eighties. He was there to do some game fishing. He was a nice fella - he loved coming to Australia to fish. Great memories... RIP Lee

My favorite with Lee Marvin is MONTE WALSH back in 1969. The movie set of Mescal east of Tucson was built just for it. Lee Marvin , Jeanne Moreau , Jack Palance , Mitch Ryan , Jim Davis , director William A. Fraker Marvin was a WWII Marine combat veteran.

I hope you're wrong. We need manly men who will stand up when necessary and know when to be soft when appropriate.

Monte Walsh my favourite film. The scene where Lee Marvin tamed the horse is Sensational.

Marvin was genuine. Very credible. I believed the character (he gave the character substance and vivos). He seemed to bring the other characters to a reality as well. He did take roles just for the money, the role had meaning and he gave it meaning. In life he was genuine too -- an Ex-Marine who started life as a grunt. He earned his way every time. Great hero for our vintage. Role model.

Hope when he got to Heaven they tied him to a tree, otherwise he would start wandering and you know where he would be. Love the wandrin star song. RIP.

If it were possible to reincarnate people there are two actors I would like to bring back Lee Marvin and Heath Ledger. Both had angelic faces that they could turn into the most menacing faces I've ever seen on screen. Fair Dinkum bloody great actors.

Nothing could have portrayed Lee Marvin better than this slide show, with a great portrayal of pictures and music. All class as was the man himself. Well done indeed. A much missed actor. The old adage of when men were men and women were women . regards, Colin.

Only actor I ever met in person. 1973? He wore thick glasses, said "Im blind as a bat without them" Got on in LA flying to Hawaii Economy class. My friend and I from KC said, "He looks familar? Then THATS LEE MARVIN!" Over Hawaii I tried unsuccessfully to take a photo out the window with a new camera. I asked for his help. He tried to shoot 3 shots. He showed us property he owned as we passed over it. I have no photo of Lee, only 3 shots of plane ceiling that he took! He was a friendly person.

No pics from Paint Your Wagon, too bad. One of Lee Marvin's iconic portrayals ! An independent soul, lacking all moral turpitude, except one. "I'll never gull a partner, and if you ever want to trade bags of gold dust with me, just say the word, Partner." Classic !

His best scene was, when he took a bath in 'Cat Ballou', had a shave and a haircut, dressed up and looked as the devil himself - all in black and silver ;-). He did a great job at this film.
