Very helpful. I made the attorney name, address, etc. a text box to easily align it, but I made that after I followed your steps for line alignment. So I followed your steps, deleted the top left, added the text box, the pasted the info, and aligned it by dragging the text box.

Thank you for this wonderful demonstration. In order to fix the spacing in-between your name and firm name, select the entire name and address lines, make it exactly 12. Once the name pops up higher, select only your name and then open up the paragraph box again. Once you open the paragraph box change the spacing at top to .8 or .9 what ever your eyes deem better, I prefer .8. This will push down your name line in alignment with #1 on the side. Hope this helped.

"spacing" "before" is what you should configure.

@@AlDavLaw If adding space before does not solve the top paragraph not lining up issue from being persistent in the document you could try Word's Options - Advanced - Layout and (check) suppress extra line spacing at top of page.

How you do continuous numbering? And how to you do link to reference line of selected text in an index? In the index it should be line ? "bla, bla, bla" page ?

Can somebody tell me what version of WORD was used for the lawyer's presentation?

It would have been Microsoft Word for Mac. Not sure the exact version number though. If you are using Word on PC it could be a bit different.

Once the table goes in NOTHING lines up with the numbers. I have spent over 100 hours trying to get it to work. I don't know whether to cry, throw up or punch you in the face.

Let's stick to crying. Just kidding. Sorry you are having a hard time. There is probably a "style" setting in Word that is causing a problem. One trick is to add in a page break after the table and reset the formatting. If you go to Insert > Break > Section Break (next page), that may help.
