“Fat poof” is basically calling him a fat gay. Ronnie Kray was homosexual in this film. Tom Hardy did such an amazing job with this movie!

The movie is called Legend. It’s about the Kray twins Ronnie and Reggie. They were real gangsters in 1960s London. They soon became the leaders of the most notorious crime syndicate in UK history. It’s mainly because of the Krays the Mafia never got a proper foothold into London...

This scene is based on the time the younger Krays beat up nine young men in the Coach and Horses pub. Reg had gone to the pub at 10pm to meet Ron. Ron left a message with Charlie (the eldest Kray brother) for Reg to head to the Coach and Horses. Reggie sensed that Ronnie was in some trouble (twin telepathy) and headed straight to the pub. Reg was right, 9 young men had been intimidating Ronnie and Pat Butler (Pat wasn't a fighter and was told to stay out of it). When the tension got really high both Krays fled the pub. Four of the young men followed the Krays out the door. The Krays entered the pub from a side door and proceeded to beat up the surprised 5 young men remaining inside, leaving them in a heap on the floor. When the other 4 re-entered the pub the Kray brothers quickly finished them off too. This incident sealed the Krays reputation as people not to be messed with in the East End of London.

Poof was a derogatory name for being gay. Which Ronnie Kray was. Though in the 60's it wasn't known or hidden. The Krays were twins who were gangsters in the east end of London, they ran the area. Their enemies were the Richardsons, another gang. The Krays were Ronnie (who was a complete psychopath) and Reggie who was just as violent, but kinda knew when to stop. Whereas Ronnie would beat somebody to a pulp and then sit and have his dinner thinking nothing of it. Tom Hardy played them brilliantly. Another one of Tom Hardy's great films was Bronson. It's about a real life guy who is still in prison even though he initially got 4 years in the 70's. But has never been released cos he has beat up guards, kidnapped guards and other prisoners. Totally bonkers and Tom Hardy is unrecognisable as Bronson. He wasn't called Bronson, he changed his name to Charles Bronson after the actor.

I was told by a Green Beret, “if you’re going to use a hammer to kill someone, use a mallet. Claw hammers get stuck in the skull, mallets just cause massive crush damage”
