The dragon was AR (Augmented Reality). They got glasses before the show so the viewers could see it. It was part of the original kit for the "basket" that was that Olympic stadium in Beijing. Which, btw, is falling apart and has nothing happening in it.

In the old day of League of Legends, teams were mostly formed by people that had played together or knew each from playing the game. As it became more of a professional thing, teams and organizations formed that would recruit players based on performance like more traditional sports teams do. The match that took place after this opening ceremony was watched by 60 million people worldwide.

I think my favorites are "GODS" from 2023 and this "Legends Never Die", but they are all good in their own way. Specially GODS because it was INSANE storywise, let me tell you for when you watch it. Since from the start of League, there were these two pro players in this story, Faker and Deft. They were classmates and they both got interested in this new game, became good and started playing professionally more or less at the same time. The difference is that Faker was going to be known as the greatest Esport player of all time (from any game) and would win a bunch of world championships, while his old classmate Deft would be famous for being very good, but couldn't ever find a good team for him to achieve victory. Until last year, when he finally got to be the champion of the 2023's World Championship, beating Faker himself at the finals with a clutch match. The interesting part is that the MV for GODS was made to tell the story of this player Deft, who was always obstinate, but wasn't ever been able to win! So the MV tells his story, mentioning each team he has passed by, year after year since the beginning. It's such a special story, such a coincidence. I bet these videos hype the players a BUNCH. Ps: Something similar happened with League too for the 2019 theme song called "Phoenix", as the lyrics are all about resurrecting from the ashes and then one underdog team came and won the World Championship that year. Its name? FunPlus PHOENIX! I can't deal, it's so hype! Ps 2: thank you for the hard work with the channel, I'm loving your reactions! I hope you're having fun!

Here is League experience: *Cinematics: 10 *Music: 10 *Lore: 10 *Professional Tournaments: 10 *Gameplay: 7 (not as flashy and cool as they made you think, especially for not MOBA players) I don't play the game, but i watch a lot of pro games because they are cool. Especially WORLDS 🌎

Dont think anyone in the comment section was there in 2017. Mainly because that tournament was held in China and I believe it would be basically impossible to get tickets given how absolutely HUGE League Esports is in China. And yeah, the players would feel all-important. Given that they made it to the finals of the biggest event of the year and everyone in the stadium is there to watch them play, I believe they have the right to feel all important :D

I'm surprised no one said this, but this was in Beijing, and the regimented and precise, almost mechanical choreography was very intentional and is pretty common in China from what I've seen. Both their Olympic opening ceremonies, the 2008 and 2022 ones, featured massive groups of tightly choreographed performers, with 2008 featuring literally two thousand and eight drummers drumming in perfect synchronicity. They take it to 11 for the Olympics, but it's common everywhere.

To make a short answer, no the crowd was not seeing this drake on stage, it was AR, Augmented Reality, basically it was added to the livestream feed, and that's why it was on the screens. They did see it on screen. Not at all ceremonies have such feat, some use it, others later switch from AR to holograms, were the crowd indeed see it all. I'd advise to also watch the IGN documentary on K/DA before or right after watching the 2018 ceremony. kzitem.info/news/bejne/xZtj3puEfqV2Zn4&ab_channel=IGN

I'm sure someone mentioned it. But Worlds is the end of the year championship for League of Legends. And EVERY year, except for like.. The first 2-3 early years, we've gotten a song/music video before the actual tournament starts. So yeah, all of us get to hear the song leading up to Worlds & it's what helps bring the hype. There was one year where we waited like.. 3-4 months for the song & they dropped it RIGHT before the Tournament started.

I was there and it was an incredible experience! We saw the dragon the screen, but it was absolutely a hype and double check your eyes and if it was actually there moment! My friend and I had to double-take even though we knew they dragon was only on the screen. This ceremony won Riot Games a Sports Emmy for Outstanding Live Graphic Design and it was the first sports emmy to go to a video game company I think

the worlds songs are released before worlds starts in order to hype up the teams and the community. Then Teams in different regions face of in the tournament until only 2 remain to fight in the finale against each other. Right before that moment the opening ceremony is held to honor the best 2 teams that are about to fight each other and determine the best team at league in the world as the winner.

The audience only sees the dragon on the stadium screens. The tech is called "AR" (augmented reality, same thing pokemon go uses), though this is a more theatrical adaptation of it (it's only meant to be viewed from a general angle, rather than from any angle). The easiest way to comprehend it, is that the dragon is pre-recorded/rendered, and that recording is played over the live footage (the cameraman pans and zooms at scripted moments to make the recording appear to match the live environment). The simplified technical explanation is they recreated the stadium in a virtual 3d space, mapped out all the areas they want to key out (the crowd, the performers, the sky, etc.), and animated the dragon interacting with that virtual stadium. They then have two cameras tracking the stadium so the virtual stadium lines up with the real one, and then they can start the animation and film a virtual 3d dragon in "real 3d" space. The trickiest part is masking the stadium so the dragon can appear behind it, which would require either extreme precision camera movement to line up with the animation, or very shaky camera movement with intense zoom to help cover up any misalignment. If you pause on the last couple frames of the dragon leaving the stadium you'll see they were off by quite a bit. They actually have like an entire devlog of how they made it.

Rise is a great song, however, the original performance they gave at Worlds was arguably one of the worst things to be in a ceremony, sonically, however, they redeem themselves in 2023 World ceremony with a different spin on rise but with good vocals lol The vocals they had in the original performance were 😬😬💀

Good and Great Game adaptations are for example: Mortal Combat, Cyberpunk, Last of us, Dota, Castlevania, Sonic, Super Mario, Pokemon. Perfect Movie/Game: Alien Isolation, Detroid become Human, Until Dawn, Vader Immortal VR, Jedi Fallen order and Jedi Survivor. Arcane/League of Legends 3 Books, all charakters Stories with 20 comics is around 25 books. Fnaf is here 9 years it has 25 books, 14 games and This year is year of Fnaf. #In my option Fnaf movie is one of Best Adaptations from Games.

The holograms and the performances got better yeah. Though there have been years where the opening is pretty meh. Either way they always put a lot of effort into the holograms and such and are generally pretty ahead of the times. The KD/A one looks horrid though XD. Like the animators ran out of time.
