I found that putting the larger end of the telescope towards the front of the shuttle, so that the two yellow bits on the smaller end slide into the 2 indentations on the side of the cargo bay, the doors do close completely. The indentations I mentioned are the same ones that the intermediate stand slides into.

In all fairness, the Canada arm was supposed to be working in space, in zero gravity, to move the Hubble out of the shuttle. If they tried to lift the same amount of weight with the Canada under Earth gravity it would break like a twig.

My only comment concerns the Canadarm: It's only used in 'zero' gravity, so hoping the LEGO version could support the scale Hubble is a bit unfair. Unless you just meant that it's hard to position the arm so it LOOKS like it has grabbed the satellite? Might get my vote for best LEGO set ever, regardless. It's a great build.

Hey, I have this set and I have no idea what he's talking about. The telescope balances perfectly inside of the shuttle and the Canadarm has lots of articulation so you can pose it however you like, and of course make it look like it's grapping the telescope. Definitely a set worth buying.

21:36 Win for Lego in this case, though, because the real-life Canadarm could not hold ITSELF up in Earth gravity. Also, the reason the real-life Canadarm could hold the Hubble on its own with no supports is because there was no relative gravity pulling it down, so it makes sense that the Lego Canadarm cannot hold up the Hubble on the model, which is why the second stand is included.

Very nice review as usual! Your work is amazing as always. I have two minor remarks thought: - you wrote that the landing gears need to be retracted manually. One could think you feel it is a shame? You could have mentioned that it is « like the real shuttle ». Indeed, on the real one you could note retract the landing gears after deployment. It was done on the ground in preparation for next launch. - You can definitely connect the Canadarm to the Hubble telescope by using the second grey connection in the middle of the Canadarm. It makes it shorter and coming slightly for above, it connects to one of the removable grey hooks on top of the telescope.

I'd rather have a good set with a terrible box than the other way around. I like most of your reviews, including this one, but the time spent commenting on the box is just a pointless waste of time; I doubt anyone's purchasing decision hinges on how good the box looks. I've never seen a movie review where they spend any part of it discussing how good the movie poster is. I can't help but notice looking in the comments that the only comments that even mention the packaging are positive ones... and one even points out that you praised similar packaging in an earlier review.

Well, the Set looks realy amazing when its done but that colour chaos on the inside... What happend Lego? I thougt this was a 18+ Set, so you dont need a different colour for every piece. I am currently building the CVN68 USS Nimitz from BlueBrixx (6030pcs) and it has nothing more then 13 coloured pieces on the inside, but i am still able to build it. The biggest one is a red 1x2 brick and the others are 1x2 plates in white, red and yellow. It cant be for visibility reasons because 1/4 of the parts for the Nimitz are black and i‘m doing just fine building it on a black table....
@BDTech9

The colours don't matter. Trust me, I was wondering the same thing when I was building it like why are there so many of these ugly green pieces? You don't see a single one of them when you finish building, all the weirdly colours just seamlessly disappear. This thing really is a feat of engineering. The only place you'll see an ugly green lego piece is on the back of the hubble telescope "details" stand.
