@@marcovimercati393 Grande! :) I made a fully active suspension system almost 35 years ago, with 1st gen lego pneumatics and a rough lego pump compressor. It had a kind of mechanical level sensor acting on the pneu valves, modified to move more smoothly. Great times, indeed! :)

The more complicated a Lego mechanism is, the better it looks on video. Pretty damn cool how you made such a complicated mechanism able to lift the entire RC vehicle, all while making it somewhat resemble a real car. Can't wait to see what you'll come up with next. The only idea I can suggest is an RC 4 door car with a motor that lifts the rear wing up and a motor that opens all doors and the front cover so you can see the engine. Also, from your demonstration it seems like the front suspensions don't lift as much as the rear. Am I seeing something wrong or is this true?
@brickbuilds101
Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, and you are correct the front suspension does have smaller range of motion than the rear suspension. The mechanism is the same but the rear uses 5 stud long beams in the suspension compared to the 4 studs in the front which results in the height difference :)
@nomic655
Жыл бұрын
@@brickbuilds101 It's not a significant height difference in the end. If it was intentional, personally I'd put the 5 stud long beams forward so the car can climb slightly taller surfaces. Any benefit of putting them on the rear or is it just how the design turned?
@brickbuilds101
Жыл бұрын
The front suspension was build first, and without the axels, needed in the rear, I got more space in the middle by making it 4 studs long. That's why the worm gear in the front is a bit more in the middle compared to the back. When I started working on the rear suspension I realized the beams had to be 5 studs long, to get the space for the 2 universal joints in the drive axel. Which resulted in the rear being a bit bigger and the worms gear a bit more "out" from the middle. I ended up liking it, because it gives some sort off realism when the car is aggressively angled forward, like ind real life on som cars.

Super awesome build! brings a ton of questions to mind! When raising and lowering the rear suspension - Is the camber on the rear tires changing as well? Is this a similar mechanism (including the suspension mechanism ) to what hyper/super/sport cars use to raise the front for going over bumps etc? What happens if you keep pushing the height adjustment motors once at max/min height? Do the gears skip or do the motors lock out and stop? If its the second one... could a type of clutch be added that is strong enough to engage with the torque needed to lift the car but will slip once going over the threshold at max/min height?
