*See the speed build* at kzitem.info/news/bejne/tp-uqJukkYl5aXo on my new channel. So I was wrong about this being the Rally, it *is the BUGGY.* Having no personal interest in the BMW-era Minis or their racing efforts, I did my Googling before the review for a crash course in the status of the Dakar program, which is when I first learned of the existence of the distinct and new-to-2018 2WD entry. Learning more about the chassis, looking up its drivers, and seeing how it faired in 2018, I viewed about a dozen different articles and looked at surely hundreds of image results, all of which showed the buggies in either red or Red Bull liveries. The more distinct red-accented green scheme seen on this model was only associated with the (imo hideous) Countryman-based Rally in every photo I saw. As it turns out, I needed to dig significantly deeper. *On page 14* of X-Raid's gallery (as of Jan. 3, 2019) begins photos of a buggy draped in green & red, which matches the appearance of this model. Also, as some viewers have noted (and thank you!), the classic driver's torso actually says "Morris Cooper," which makes a lot more sense.

You're wrong Jang! Its definitely the buggy! Look at the pinched nose, smaller front fenders, smaller dome than body, vents in the back, smaller and oddly shaped rear and tail lights etc. Colors match the rally car though... interesting. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. It even has the roof "scoop" like buggy that the rally car doesn't have. I just noticed.

Yesss it's the worst, especially when there's somewhat of a deep seat so it's extra hard to find a way to get a grip on the legs and you have to put the body back and try to over-bend it forward & wiggle it out. No studs or minimal studs is vastly superior for real use!

I disagree. I just looked up the dakar "buggy" and the "rally" cars and other than the colors I saw, this looks to be representing the buggy as you mentioned the title of the set it. The roof scoop and the fenders look the buggy to me rather than the rally car

I have reason to believe that the wording on the back of the 1967 Mini driver's torso is Morris Cooper, because according to my sometimes shaky general knowledge the first Minis were either branded Morris Mini Minors or Austin Mini Minors. That was, of course, before British Leyland took over manufacture, and long before the BMW days...

12:29 I'm not sure how much of an issue gender specific torsos are for the target market of most Lego sets, but it's nice to see in this case, Lego is listening. It serves no purpose for minifigs depicting normal everyday people (i.e. not fantasy and sci-fi) to be shoehorned into being male or female in Lego.

You are incorrect saying the Green car is the Rally and not the Buggy as stated on the box. If you search for pictures from last years Dakar you will see that the team ran a green buggy Numbered 314. This is the vehicle this set replicates. Not the green Rally that also ran Numbered 302

These sets aren't necessarily for kids, unless your a kid that has a decent experience with applying stickers. Just a couple off set stickers make the set look incomplete or weird. It is 100% essential to get them right, and Lego goes over these sets to make sure that they fit the age recommendation but they obviously don't look at the sticker part of it. But at the end of the day you could leave them off if you don't care about details. XD
