Hi Dheeraj Ji, Thanks for such a nice and detailed explanation. Your video inspired us to create such videos on our channel which will help people in their planning. We are planning Ladakh Trip in the last week of this November. I have the below question if you can answer 1. Is there a chance of snowfall during this time? 2. We want to go for a 5-day trip, what would be your suggested itinerary, Need at least one place with loads of snow and the best places only as we have less number of days? Thanks
@discoverwithdheeraj
Жыл бұрын
That is wonderful to know Gaurav and Neeti. Regarding your questions: 1. There are chances of snowfall in November but all depends on weather. It is not too heavy snow in November, mostly dry snow with couple of spells usually. You need to be lucky to align the dates with the weather. 2. A detailed video coming this week but in short, first two days of rest and then next two days of Nubra trip. Generally last day should be buffer day but you can plan for day trip to Pangong in case the weather seems clear otherwise a snowfall can leave you behind Changla Pass and you may end up missing the flight next day. For snow, apart from Khardung La and Changla or unless snowfall is fresh around your travel days, it will be hard to get snow.

Hi Sir, recently in the 2nd week of October I traveled solo to Spiti Valley and can't thank you enough for mapping my plan. Your detailed blog post and YT videos helped a lot doing so😊. I must say, Devil on Wheels has the best content out there on internet if anyone is planning for Spiti or Ladakh or any Himalayan region🙌🏻. It's a humble request, if you could make a video on "Ladakh's APRICOT BLOSSOM FESTIVAL" , that has been gaining popularity for last few years (which happens during April usually) , about the Spring in Ladakh, How's the weather and road condition in Ladakh during that time etc etc. And none other than you can provide the detailed content on this☺️. Recently I stumbled upon few of the pics of Apricot Blossom season in Aryan Valley and OMG the entire valley looks no less than heaven😍. But sadly the information available on the same is very very less.

Great video dheeraj bhai…. I am planning a trip to ladakh in march last week. Can you please suggest if it is possible to stay at a hotel in nubra valley at that time like considering low oxygen levels ? If yes, then which village would be best. Thanks a lot in advance 😊

Well Priyam, Nubra Valley is much better than what you will have in terms of altitude in Leh. So don’t worry about altitude there as long as you are spending and resting couple of days in Leh by following acclimatization principles, Nubra will help further. Hunder and Deskit both have hotels and guest houses to stay. Stendel Hotel is good in Deskit

@discoverwithdheeraj

Divya, yes, that route is mostly open. It will be really really cold up there so the challenge that I see is you covering that route from Tangtse to Tso Moriri via Pangong lake that can be very very long. Bike ride can be very dangerous in such cold conditions... can result in dire circumstances!

Tanuj bhai you can stay at monasteries like Hemis, Thiksey, Shey, etc.. but mostly they expect you to do some voluntary work in return not as enforced but more like an obligation on your part. You may teach there help them out with daily chores, etc.. Now stays are very basic with bukhari only available to provide warmth. Rest it will be homestay kinda experience with basic food and basic amenities.

@discoverwithdheeraj

Bangladeshi citizens also need to get permission from MHA, New Delhi to travel in Inner Line Areas of Ladakh including Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso, and Tso Moriri. I am sorry but I am not 100% sure about how to apply for this permission in MHA, New Delhi. If you get to know please share with me too so that I can help other fellow travelers coming from Bangladesh as well. However, if you are unable to get the permission for visiting Ladakh, you may want to consider Zanskar Valley where I do not think any permit is required for foreigners.

Well, brother, Pangong Lake you need to travel via Chang La Pass so it will be equally or more dangerous than visiting Nubra Valley considering Pangong high altitude too. I will recommend that if you want to ride experience then better do it along Sham Valley, Lamayuru, Kargil Drass, You may want to travel towards Teri Village: An Offbeat Place in Ladakh. Hi Dheeraj bhai, Can you please help me clear a few confusions of mine? 1. Should I buy a rucksack bag (large one to carry most of my stuff on bike) and carry it from Bangalore to Leh on flight? Or should I carry my normal trolley bag in flight and rent the rucksack bag in Leh? Which option would be practically and financially better? 2. I don't own a go-pro since i don't go biking too much. How much would it cost to rent a go-pro for 7 days in Leh? Thanks and Regards, Supal
@discoverwithdheeraj
Жыл бұрын
Here are the replies bhai: 1. I will suggest the rucksack approach as it will have multiple purposes. They are light as well compared to trolley and plus they will stay with you instead of rental. You can use it on multiple trips. I enjoy the two rucksacks I have. Get a 70l one, quechua has been good to me for last 8-9 years. Bruised and battered. 2. They will be pretty limited and old ones if you find any. I think they would be around 500 per day. Better to ask a friend and borrow.

I would be grateful if you take a look and suggest improvements/changes if required. Day 1 - Land in Leh and acclimatize. Visit the market and take a bike on rent. Day 4 - Checkout from Tso Moriri and check-in to Leh hotel. Refill petrol in bike and petrol cans. Day 5 - Checkout from Leh and start towards Nubra valley. Visit Khardung La pass and Diskit monastery. Refill petrol and then check-in in Hunder. Day 6 - Checkout from Hunder and ride to Pangong lake. Stay for the night. Day 7 - Checkout from Pangong and come to Leh. Stay for the night. Day 8 - Fly back from Leh to Bangalore. Does it look practical and manageable Dheeraj bhai? Also, how much capacity and number of petrol cans should i carry to make this itinerary work? Thanks and Regards, Supal

Hello Supal, I will suggest following recommendations for better acclimatization and less vulnerability for AMS. Day 1 - Land in Leh and acclimatize. Visit the market and take a bike on rent. Day 2 - Visit nearby places such as Shanti stupa, hall of fame, magnetic hill etc and come back to the hotel. Day 3 - Checkout from Leh and start towards Nubra valley. Visit Khardung La pass and Diskit monastery. Refill petrol and then check-in in Hunder. Day 4 - Checkout from Hunder and ride to Pangong lake. Stay for the night. Day 5 - Checkout from Pangong and come to Leh. Stay for the night. Refill petrol in bike. Day 6 - Checkout from Leh and ride to Tso Moriri lake. Stay there for the night. Day 7 - Checkout from Tso Moriri and check-in to Leh hotel. Day 8 - Fly back from Leh to Bangalore. This will help you have a much relaxed and most likely AMS free trip. Please ensure to keep yourself properly hydrated.
