Many thanks. I have an a-la-carte Leica MP in red leather with a matching red leather case and strap also, as I wanted to use it primarily with a 50mm lens I got Leica to make the bright frame for the 50mm lens on its own not in a pair. I bought it in 2008 and I went to Leica in Germany to pick it up . They had a news team there from a German news channel who filmed me receiving the camera and a few lenses, which was then on the evening news in Germany s part of their build up to the up-coming Photokina where the first digital 'M' (M8} was launched and I was invited to the launch as Leica's guest ! Yes, quite a trip which I will never forget. Cheers Neil

The MP and M6 were my two top choices when I was shopping for a Leica rangefinder. I purchased an M6 because it was the first I found in good condition and for a reasonable price. I now shoot with an M6 and an M10 with 21/35/90mm lenses.

Beautiful video Michal - I am probably late to this, but really loved your explanation here. There is so much spec chasing in photography right now, that people forget to slow and down and seek out the moments. Film photography has taught me to take my time and not necessary be in a rush. Good lesson for life too

What lens do you have mounted on your MP in this video? Looks like a 50mm Summicron 11826, but with focus-tab? I'm somewhat confused?!
@MichalJeck
5 жыл бұрын
Ni Ko hi, it is the 50 cron you are right. I am using TAAB from lenstab.com It makes the lens less pretty but it ads super practicality!
@niko4643
5 жыл бұрын
@@MichalJeck Thank you for your answer. I don't think it makes the 'cron less pretty, only more practical! I had the predecessor of your version, but always wanted a built in hood. Only the missing focus-tab was bothering me. So maybe there is a good way now to justify the newer lens. Tank you!
@MichalJeck
5 жыл бұрын
Ni Ko yeah I like to use it. But it adds rubber ring around the lens. It is noticeable only when you look closely. I would prefer it without the rubber. But then I guess the only way is APO 50 😬. I think I I’ll keep my cron ☝️

Thank you very much for this video. Would you please explain to us how you work from taking pictures to develop film, scan and post processing. It would be very interesting to get the whole workflow from one source. I am about to build up an analog workstation with film self development, 35mm scanner. But I have no experience and would appreciate hearing your experience. Thanks!

Koll Pet thank you for your message. I would be happy to explain my whole workflow. In short I develop some film (black and white only) at home and then digitalise it. I do not have a proper dark room unfortunately. I will prepare one video about it as soon as I can.

I will sell my 2017 Leica Q and get a classic MP one day, the sooner the better. Used digital cameras dont hold value as well as the used analog/film cameras either, that reality holds for Leica as with any other camera.

Loved your review as I’ve just bought the MP. You’ve told me everything I need to know. One Question. I’ve got the silver finish which I love. Will that show the brass over time or is it not a paint finish like the black model?
@MichalJeck
4 жыл бұрын
Really pleased to see that you liked my video. And congratulations on your MP. The silver chrome is not ageing the same way as the black paint. It is really durable and I am sure in 20 years it will still look like new. Unless you would treat it really badly. If you look at any silver chrome M3 for example. Most of them have the finish in pretty good condition.

Gabriel Aszalos oh I had it much longer that 2 years. It was a real gem as it left the factory in 2015 :-). When I sold it I was picking up digital Leica most of the time. Kind of wasn’t enjoying film as much as I used to. And wanted something new. So I decided so sell it. Now of course I know I acted too fast and I wish I kept it 🤷🏻♂️. But that’s how things are. Time to move on.
